I remember when I first bought my PS2 one of the games that caught my attention was Onimusha and I thought the games were great especially the 3rd installment.

I was wondering if Capcom is planning to remaster this series for current generation consoles & PC.

Capcom has released remasters for past RE franchise starting from last gen and they are doing the same right now.

So what do you think should Capcom give the green light to re-release these games now?

thanks.

I only played the 3rd (at least, I think the 3rd, that was the one with Jean Reno right?). It was OK, it played too much like so many other games Capcom had released before it, early Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, DMC, so it never really stood out to me, largely because I enjoyed the others a lot more.

Personally, if Capcom are going to remake or remaster any series, it should be Dino Crisis. They should take Resident Evil back to it's horror roots (which they seem to be doing with 7), and then bring Dino Crisis back and make that game like RE 5 and 6, as I think Dino's would be more suited to that kind of game than Zombies.

@spike6958: yes Jean Reno was in the 3rd game. I agree with you on Dino Crisis played it back on the PS1 and had great fun with especially the 2nd one. Well it seems most gaming companies are going with the trend in making remasters of classic games. Seeing as Capcom is releasing all these remasters now it is hard to think they wouldn't remaster this one.

I only played the third game, and though it was fun it didn't hook me like Ninja Gaiden: Black or the DMC series.

I'm hoping Nioh captures a great Hn'S experience, but not sure Onimusha is worth a revisit. I think it'll only satisfy nostalgic fans of the trilogy.

I liked the first one quite a bit and vaguely remember finishing it, but those controls are pretty bad compared to nowdays. It's something I'd be tempted by for $10 as a ps4 download though, for sure.

Onimusha 2 and 3 were absolutely great games!

i feel they probably haven't aged well and will suffer with poor controls, as a lot of games from that era do. Rather than a remaster, why not just make a new a version? I reckon it would sell well, especially if marketed properly.
