Do you think that it will fail?

If it happens, I think it's got a lot of potential. Certainly love the games and even more so than WOW.
I absolutely love the Dragon Quest games, but I don't want to have to pay a monthly fee just to play the new one
What there's a monthly fee? Well I guess it makes sense it is going to be on a console it should help the wii a lot though if it is successful
I rather they give us a HD version of DQ VIII.Dracula68yeah me too but I do want to see newer characters also a new adventure
I bet it really won't have much effect on the game plus there is a single player mod which may be decent enoughi love the series but i hate mmorpgs. another dev that goes the mmorpg route :( its like a plague

[QUOTE="pspman1997"][QUOTE="campzor"]extremely disappointed its a mmocampzorit does have a single player so you are saying i can just buy it and treat it like its dragon quest 8? NO monthly fees etc.... ? yes i do think so
I'm interested, but if there's a monthly fee, count me out. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think the single player aspect of the game is extremely limited and basically requires a monthly subscripition to play beyond a certain point, which I believe is very early on in the game.
Yeah, I need a reason to play my Wii online besides the occational Smash Bros match. Also I lol at people crying about monthly fees...

You're just douching it up everywhere you go. This is the last time I feed this troll.
Not a troll, but MMO's and monthly fees kind of go hand and hand.

I thought you were coming from the angle of: "You poor people can all go to hell." That's what people usually like to throw around when they lol @ people who complain about monthly fees. I was going to say something like: "I can afford it no problem, but I just don't like being on the hook like that."
I found myself playing (even when I rly didn't want to) just because I was paying monthly for it, when I was on MMOs. It started to become a problem for me.
I avoid MMOs (w/ a monthly fee) because I'm a cheap-skate who needs to wring every last penny of value out of something if I'm paying for it. :p
Sorry for the troll comment.

Personally, I'm not happy with where they're taking DQ at all. The fact that DQ10 not only requires a monthly fee after 20 days of play, but you also have to have a Wii memory card with at least a 16gb capacity as well, just baffles me. I know that they're releasing a bundle of DQ10 with a memory card, but I don't want to pay over $100 for a new Wii game.
For a long time now, I've just wanted another single-player DQ game that was as glorious as DQ8 was, I don't want to play DQ as an MMO. Yes, you can play DQ10 for "a few hours" offline, but after that, it's online only. That's not DQ to me. So yeah, I'm not interested in the DQ MMORPG. :P
In regards to whether or not it will "fail" though? I don't think that DQ can fail in Japan. It's just too popular. Will it fail as an overall game though? I think that's possible. Should be interesting to see what happens this August.

Well Honestly I think that I like where they are going because nintendo usually does'nt release mmos plus at the same time this could spark popularity when the wii u is released this could be the backbone for nintendo

Well, what do you think of the online fee, required memory card, and the fact that you can only play a Dragon Quest game offline for a few hours at most? That just doesn't seem right for a DQ game. To me, it seems like Square Enix is forcing DQ to take the MMO road just for profit's sake, not for the good of the series.
I just wonder why they didn't just call DQ10 "Dragon Quest Online" and put it on the PC, MAC, (etc.) while also working on a true successor to DQ8. That seems like it would've been the best option to me.

Ah I do get what you are saying though it may not be a "good" game it will still spark popularity because of this generation's children. Remember most kids don't really know much about video games as long as the box art looks cool then they will buy it. And also since Nintendo's audience is aimed towards kids you can be sure that this will be a decent enough hitPlease Log In to post.
