A dark or light room? Tbh I prefer blinds open and windows definitely open in this heat we have in Liverpool lately, plus a little bit of light on the screen makes it stand out more I know this sound's stupid especially for dark scenes as there will be lots of glare but I just prefer gaming in a light environment so how about you?

It doesn't matter to me, honestly. I prefer lighted rooms, but I have no problem playing in the dark.

I don't really have a preference, time is the biggest issue for me.

@benny_boy98: A dark room with rats and roaches and a mentally insane person sits behind me and hits me in the head everytime I die in the game, I normally play bloodborne and darksouls in this room.

Lighted room at night or daylight during weekends. Central air conditioning set at 76F (24C) plus ceiling fan.

That's for both my den and living room. Every room has a ceiling fan.

Sometimes I prefer little electric light and sometimes all dark. But for sure not any light from the windows otherwise it reflect on the screen. I'm in a basement but there is open windows for the air but the window just over the computer is close with curtains.

Mostly dark, but to give the room some light I have a strip of multi-color remote controlled LEDs that sit behind the monitors.

If I turn the lights out in the room, the light behind the monitors keeps the room illuminated sufficiently with ambient light but since there's no direct light source it's not distracting. The controller supports 16 different colors but I usually leave it as red.

@Byshop: Wow, you have quite the impressive gaming setup.

For movies and television I prefer a very dark room but for gaming I prefer a dim room with ambient light that doesn't interfere with my screen.

I like to game in complete darkness the most, but I play different types of games depending on the time of day. Some games I only like playing in darkness, like horror, action, movie type games etc. If I play in the daytime (which is rare) then I will play something like roller coaster tycoon.

@Byshop: What`s that, interior of the new Millenium Falcon? :p

On topic, i like playing in slightly dimed enviroments. I prefer playing with lights turned off when playing at night but it really depends on the mood.

Don`t like playing much over the summer because too much heat, don`t like air conditioners either because they give me headaches, so not playing much until weather cools down a bit. I should visit Greenland.

I have my computer right next to my TV, play with two lamps on sitting on an extra large bean bag. I'm at 4,000 elevation so it's nice and cool all year round.

I prefer low light.

My bedroom light is almost always off. I like just having a touch lamp on the second setting behind my screen. I can see what I'm doing, but it avoids any unnecessary glare (which I hate).

I'm in Haleakala National Park (Maui), on the road up to the summit of a volcano, about a 45 minute drive from the top which is 10k feet.

I prefer to game in a dark room but i dont mind playing during the daytime. And my office just has normal blinds so during these summer times its light until late into the evening.

And very nice setup you have there Byshop, i guess you play elite a lot :D

Anytime, anywhere. (Provided there is no glare on the screen during the day)
