For the longest time I was like that with the pokemon games.I would buy every single new one that hit the market. Now I only buy the new ones that introduce new pokemon.Pokemon titles, as long as it's not too far away from the main games.
Fire Emblem as well. I freakin' love that stuff.

Final Fantasy and Fire Emblem. I was actually going to buy Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, but I resisted, thankfully.
I was thinking about not getting Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn after I saw the Gamespot Review (6.0), but I thought "It's Fire Emblem" and bought it anyway. I ended up loving it.
One day there will be a good Indiana Jones game. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but one day, and it'll be awesome for the rest of your life. Until then, the sum of all the crappy Indy game review scores don't add up to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Now, now...here's looking at you Jonesy...KumaJrWell have some hope for the new Indy game coming out.

Same. After I bought Explorers of Darkness and played for 5 minutes, I was questioning why I bought it when I hated the first Mystery Dungeon. Now it's only the main three games (one release version like D/P then the third like Platinum)
I once thought that love covered all sins. However, I quickly learned that it doesn't cover games.
Life's too short to drink cheap wine. It's also too short to play cr@ppy games.
I guess I interpreted the topic as kind of like, within reason, what franchises would you continue to follow even if an additional installment didn't quite live up to franchise installments of the past. I mean, if Konami were to release an outright broken version of Castlevania that was just miserable (say something along the lines of...Castlevania 64, no, worse than that!) then, yeah, I wouldn't want to buy it. But if you take the two PS2 versions of Castlevania that weren't mind-blowing but were solid, if unspectacular, then I would be likely to buy that game...simply because it has the Castlevania logo stamped on it.
Know what I mean? I don't think it's blind loyalty, I think it's more a way of saying, because I like the franchise, I can tolerate a few minor missteps.
I used to do this with Final Fantasy, but after the last disappointing FF games and spin-offs like Dirge of Cerberus, Advent Children (movie sucked), FFCrystal Chronicles DS, and even FFVII Crisis Core...let's just say I can care less about FFXIII or Versus.
It's funny...most of those disappointing and bad FF spin-offs had Tetsuya Nomura's influence on it. :?
I still do this with Zelda though, and Metroid.

Why the hell would I buy a game you know is bad? If a company makes a bad game, it does not deserve my support, regardless of how many good games it's made in the past. That's blind loyalty, and it's beyond stupid.
how do u know the game is bad if u havent played it, u just go by wat critics say[QUOTE="Jbul"] [QUOTE="boneseller"]for me its metal gearbonesellerWhy the hell would I buy a game you know is bad? If it's just 1 person going against the crowd, that's a different matter
