What game franchises do you think should just die?

I can really only think of one right now.

Sonic.

As much as I like Sonic he's just dragging his name through the mud right now. Maybe if some great developer could pick him up.

Final Fantasy?

Even though its a classic i really think they should kill the mario games

i know alot of people dont think so but i think its over kill with all the mario games why dont they make something new:/

And to Final Fantasy I would say definetly no to it dying. They're some of my favorite games ever. But eventually it will die and should. They can only go so long before they start messing up the games.

Pokemon. Or at least do some remakes for a while, the last gen was my least favourite. Really, some of the pokemon were desperate additions.

Mario is my first choice. There are what?... 6000 Mario games now. How many times do people want to play as that tubby little .... before people get tired of him.

Command and Conquer. I loved the series before but now that RA3 came out, it's an embarassment to the RTS community.

Another Game Is The rock band/Guitar hero games they dont need to make more they should just make like downloadabe songs i dont think they need to make a new one every month.

I don't want any franchises to die, there's people out there who will always enjoy them, I however could choose not to get them.

I've always found it to be remarkably selfish to want a series to die. No matter your personal feelings on the subject, there'll always be people that still enjoy those games. Hell, some of the series mentioned here (MGS, Final Fantasy, Mario, Pokemon, Zelda... are you guys serious? :?) are still pumping out great games.

This one is a little controversial, but COD series is just too played out. 5 games in 6 years is just too much. There's another one coming out this year so it's actually 6 games in 7 years. Way to go Activision.

Guitar Hero. Some should tell Activision about DLC.....

This one is probably not fair, but teh Pixel Junk series. I have never played a Pixel Junk game I've liked. I dont get them. I understand a lot of people do like playing them, but I think it should die so Sony can make more games like Flower. :)

Crysis Warhead and whatever other Expansion they have coming up that they will refer to as a new game, but it would use the same engine, be set on the same island where you would fight the same enemies (more or less). At least it would stop PC fanboys from claiming it was the best looking game last year when all it was, was a DLC episode wrapped inside a new disc case.

The whole sports franchise. In my opinion it is ridiculous to spend hard earned money every year on THE SAME GAME. I really admire their marketing strategy especially how they manage to sucker poor people into buying them every year but why not just make 1 freaking game and update it via xboxlive, psn ect?Uzi-

Only one I can think of is Sonic. Unlike other franchises this one was amazing at one point, and has progressively sucked worse and worse each year. It needs to be put out of it's misery.

I don't agree with COD dying, but it is true it shouldn't come out every year. Just start to do something online and then you start all over.

Wanting it to die may be a little harsh, but whenever I see a new Dynasty Warriors game announced my initial reaction is "No! Bad developers! Stop it! Stop it stop it stop it stop it stop it!" Ahem.

Need for Speed. The last decent game from that series was Most Wanted.
