Personally rate DkSIII very highly, even for the Soulsborne series. With the exception the first DLC (Ashes of Ariandel) only really gets great at the end. My favorite of From Software Action RPG games overall though. Discussed too many times to reiterate, so will dump this_

DkSIII has much to enjoy. Yet if I pointed out one flaw doesn't try to innovate. Doubles down on refinement and content. Feeling like a safe sequel to DkS, DeS, and yes; even BB to an extent. However stats matter, and I adore the build variety in DkSIII making it very accessible from the get-go. The Remaster has reminded people the OG DkS was not as perfect as they try and remember. DkSIII is the conclusion to DkS, and a well refined machine. Ending the series on a high note.

However I do hope more people consider the mecha games From Software made, what with Metal Wolf Chaos finally getting the re-release it deserves

Try Nioh. The combat is so satisfying. The spears in this game is such fun to use. It does less damage than let say, a katana or axe does but does make the game smoother in later areas.

Personally starts with DS1 if you want to get into DS series. The remaster does a decent job and its quite short (around 30 ish hours), should finish the game by end of ur holiday. Also this game map interconnect so damn well with branching path and shortcuts that actually leads u back to base camp compared to weird map design in DS2 or the uber linear DS3.
