I don't know, FFVII was pretty much the milestone game for that generation of gamers. The Mario games keep being remade and that Halo game got remade. So, I don't see any other generation of gamers crying out for their old generation's sweetheart to get a boobjob and a facelift.
Most likely it would be FF7 again. Either because they want yet another remake of FF7 or because it simply is impossible to recreate what everyone is asking for and once the first remake is out, everyone will cry and cry asking for another "proper" remake.

This wouldn't surprise me at all. People are likely going to be dissapointed when they realize FF7 isn't nearly as good as they remember it being all those years ago.
