what games do girls like to play???

my wife likes to play oblivion, civ revolution, viva pinata, rockband/guitar hero, and some of the wii and ds games that arent lame. i was just wondering what other gamer girls liked to play so i can have some ideas for my wife. if your not a girl what do you think girls like to play if you have sisters or girlfriends ect.

At least your wife likes to play games....... :) Mine, :cry: doesn´t understand or likes video games at all. :(

Girls are more interested in exploring environments than the kill. Girls don't like fast-paced skill based thrill and kill and hate multiplayers and squad based war games. Girls don't mind a shoot up but only to progress forward in the level. Girls are more likely to wait and hit and run rather than strafe around and take enemies out in style. Girls like some emotioal contact and interaction with other characters. Girls hate games that are over-technical like Systems Shock or s.t.a.l.k.e.r. and games which time the player and girls have little patience with long training sessions.

Young Girls like Sims and adventures like Longest Journey, Myst and Final Fantasy. Older players would probably rate Thief, Half Life, Deus Ex and Max Payne because of their intense storylines.

Not enough is done to bridge the gap and encourage girls into the mainstream of gaming. Tomb Raider is very much a girls game but over emphasis by the developers on difficult skill aspects; particularly in the latest, are a turn-off.

Most of the ladies I know like to play Guitar Hero and FPS's like Halo 2.

Well as a girl, I like to play Gears of War, COD4, RSV and a current favourite being UT3. Of the other games I have enjoyed on MY 360 are: Bioshock, Mass Effect, Viva Pinata, Lego Star Wars and many others. Games I am currently playing are: MGS4 and Mario Galaxy. Can't wait for: Resident Evil 5, Gears2. Toying with buying: Pinata 2, Fable and Fallout.

Are these varied enough titles??

Well, you can't really ask "girls" about this stuff on a forum, anyway. If they say they're girls, they're probably men. If they say they're men, they're probably just little boys and if they say they're little boys, they're probably cops.Berserkerkitten

haha thats how my wife was until i found a few games that she likes to play. shes not very good at shooters or anything that is fast paced action. she gets pissed off enough as it is when one of her pinatas gets smashed its helarious.metalzombey

It's annoying when your pinata's get smashed!! You spend a lot of time nurturing them and then that damn pester and his cronies comes in and ruins all your hard work. I sympathise with your wife! :)

My cousin likes Final Fantasy. She loved FFX-2. I know some girls who love anime and RPGs.

thanks for the suggestions i think fable and the final fantasy games are perfect for the type of games she likes.bet she would probably love kingdom hearts as well.

ha-ha she doesn't think its funny either when her pinatas die. she has that dragon thing now so i haven't heard too many Fbombs lately

I love Gears, COD4, Mass Effect, the Lego games (super girl-friendly), Sims, the DMC games, Assassin's Creed, Viva Pinata, Rockband, Kameo, the Zelda games, the Mario games, etc.

Basically I like to shoot things or hack things up with swords. Double points if you can do both :lol:

I agree that fantasy/games with a love story are a great way to go with girls. Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 are awesome as are Final Fantasy games (if she can put up with turn-based...I can't...)

I get the feeling that you're not a girl..

your way of writing this as if it were a proven fact kinda makes me sad..

my 14 year old sister loves games like Unreal tournament and battle field and she plays red alert too.

I often play hack n' slash games cause i get tired of waiting for the plot to allow me to move on.

and i have a soft spot for RST games..

it makes me feel caught up in the stereotype image of what a girl expect from a game.

just because i don't play games that is not appealing to my emotional sites, doesn't make me less of a girl..

just thought I'd state that..

My Girlfriend plays pretty much JRPGs,(Point´n Click)Adventues,Dancing Games (like DDR or Dance Online which is a great Free2PLay title!),SIngstar,Guitar Hero and some Puzzlers.

As a girl, and believe me I am. I like to play games with a story in it, like the Walking Dead, the Wolf among us, and the Last of us. All games where you can make your own choices, and decide how the story goes. Other games I liked were, Rust, Garry's Mod, and SIlent Hill Homecoming. Rust I like most of the zombies, which I am terribly afraid of and always walk away from. Garry's Mod because there are so many choices. And Silent Hill because it's creepy.
