I have seen a video of Tlou where they talk about the Ai where they show some examples of how great the Ai is in that game, there where things in that video i didn't even know about after beating the game 3-4 times and it was really impressive. There are some things they might have done different to improve the Ai like when your hidden with Joel and the enemy should have spotted Ellie but that would probably be really hard to implement in that game for it to not break the flow of the gameplay, idk.. what do you guys think about that? This is the only thing i can say that is negative about the Ai in that game but there are so many other great aspects of Tlou overall so that to me really doesn't matter at all.
I have never played F.E.A.R but ill definitely check it out one day.
Arma seems like a realistic tactical shooter and probably one of the most realistic shooters out there so i have no doubt it has great Ai, realism equals great Ai in many cases, but also natural Ai behavour in for instance like a non realistic game like F.E.A.R.
I have experienced some pretty good Ai in Gears Of War Judgment multiplayer, if the other team lost a player he would be replaced by a bot and i swear some times i was 100% sure i was fighting a human player.
It's in pure offline games i really want to see the Ai shine though, i want to experience those moments where you just say to your self "holy shit is that even possible" and tbh it's not often i experience that and really notice great Ai, most of the time i feel there is just this pattern the Ai is following, should be more natural behavour from the Ai in many games and in many different situations within a game.
Hoping for much improvement on the Ai in the coming years on current gen, i think that is the next thing developers should focus on from now, so many things the developers can do from my point of view as a gamer but it's probably a real challange, there are most likely technical hurdles they must overcome and also time consuming for the developers to say the least.
