I really hope most people don't say FPS'. They're great but that's all kid's ever seem to want to play. My favorite genre is RPG's, followed by Platformers.
FPS. Don't get me wrong, it's not because I like pwning noobs and trash talk them over Xbox Live, but I just like the fact that the action is consistent, and there's not too much thinking involved. It's a good stress reliever, which I could really use.
Hmm, I'll play just about any game, I'm not too picky. Although, my all time favourites have gotta be action, adventure, platforming, and even some RPG stuff can be good, too.

rpg's for me, even though they have been on the decline in recent years, only 2-3 good ones seem to come a year nowadays.
For me it's a toss-up between turn-based strategy and RPGs. I also enjoy fighters, platformers, action, action-adventure, and puzzle games, as well as the occasional racer. I'm not terribly picky about genres, as long as I can have fun with the game.
FPS, however I don't like playing online due to all those obnoxious players out there. If it's a FPS mixed with something else, such as RPG, then I find it enjoyable.
I have quite varied tastes. I'll play anything that isn't a racer, fighter or sports game. My personal favourites are Action/Adventure, FPS and Survival Horror.
3rd perspective action adventure games are my favorite. Things like Dead Space and Silent Hill. Also the ones with more lose controls such as Beyond Good and Evil and Devil May Cry (except I don't like Devil May Cry).
I do not like God games like Black And White, creation thingies like Spore, Little Big Planet. I also don't like pure racing games such as Burnout and Gran Turismo. I don't like football games or any of the sport things except for Skateboarding (quite like skateboarding games).
I use to love FPS I mean don't get me wrong they are still great, but recently I've been getting into RPG's like The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, the Diablo series and The Witcher, it all basically depends on my mood if I wanna think I play a RPG, if I want to just kick some ass(or get my own kicked) I play a FPS
