were to create a brand new rpg based on the terminator series? though some still enjoy the terminator movies, generally people agree that the series have become **** what if ea were to buy the ip from whoever owns it right now, like how ubisoft basically bought tom clancy, then let one of their internal studios reboot the story, hopefully bioware, or if not, visceral can do the job i guess.

the time-travel storyline can possibly make for a good rpg element. what if, lets say (i'll give a lousy story here, bioware can fix it later), during the character creation part, you play as a human (seemingly, sort of like marcus wright), where you choose the background of the character and stuff, then you woke up in a blown up factory, where you make your way out to discover a wasteland (a la fallout 3). then, the decisions you make can affect the future, if you kill john connor, this happens, let him alive, this happens, and so on.

probably a lot of you are already long term terminator fans, i'm a recent one. just watched the first and second one, i only wished that it wasn't in it's current state, it's a sad to see a gem of a series being in the wrong hands. i always trust bioware when it comes to storyline, so, i have no doubts that they can save the series from doom.

Bethesda would do a better job of doing a terminator rpg. They can use the same engine they used for fallout 3. That would be a perfect fit.

that would be awesome except, according to game informer, visceral was let go from ea in the face of the economy........

why not? with the time travel mechanic your character can travel to various time.

wasn't that pandemic? i've never heard of ea shutting down visceral. it would be an unwise move anyway. dead space did sell quite slowly, almost like a flop, but it did pickup steam later due to positive word of mouth. as of now dead space have sold more than 1.5 million units already, which is quite a lot considering it's a new ip, and i bet dante's inferno will sell even more and faster too due to all the marketing hype they put in. bioware and visceral are my favorite ea studios, they're the best ea has.

Bioware= blah, blah, blah, blah and dialogue choices Terminators= killing and following orders!! So no bioware but maybe bethesda could make something like fallout 3 but in the univerese of terminator (I mean the future not the present)

but bioware beats bethesda when it comes to storyline. if they base the story around time traveling, as well as the game mechanics, it might just make for an interesting game. it's not that fallout 3 sucked, but if you make a terminator game that is like fallout 3, it's merely another shooter rpg, with the terminator setting. if it was bioware, you get to explore the series deeper, make choices (eg: john connor live or die?), and they usually craft the settings of the game nicely. i would certainly prefer a terminator rpg with a good storyline.

I'd like to see something more along the lines of Bioware makes Hellgate London in the Terminator setting. Hellgate has a similar attitude (mankind lost to hostile demon takeover as opposed to robots) and a lot more action oriented gameplay. You could play as a human rebel taking missions to help john conner, and there is plenty of room for lots of innovation in level design and enemy character design.
