It's when the game literally punches you in the face!
Actually, it's more like when Sony kept saying "True HD" even though most of their HDTVs didn't even display what they were calling "True HD."
Watch this video. Your life will change... http://www.tenthdimension.com/medialinks.phpmusicXpiratewoah, this sorta explanes how the universe could expand, the cycle just goes on. I think this atually has changed the way i perseve things.. but not in the way that science can tell us that cr*p is all part of the nitrate cycle, like i know this can be what you make of it. Darn i'm making no sence, oh well, i'm a genious somewhere you know!
I have a confession to make: I'm from the future.
I came here using the power of the PlayStation 3 to tell you how awesome Metal Gear Solid 4 is.
It is time. If your game has a save option then you already have 4D in it. Technically you have it anyway since it takes time to play but the ability to go back in time and redo a part of a game is what most people are looking for.
If someone is advertising a game as 4D then they are scamming you.

I know what you mean. It pretty much explains everything.

The first three dimensions are Length, Width, and Depth. The 4th one is time, then the 5th one is space.
Time is inherant to everything we do-- when you play a game, you don't literally experience the entire thing in one moment, but you spend time playing it to get through. So to say that a game is 4D is kind of implied. The jump from 2D to 3D was significant because rather than playing a game on a flat plane, you could explore the depth of the environment as well.
4D was a buzzword that Ken Kutaragi tried to use when the PS3 was in its hype phase, and he was saying that it would be the only console capable of doing that. The fact is, time is already there-- even early 2D games still had time involved. Now if it were 5D, that would really be something. That's where you start getting to what you'd see in Star Trek with holodecks, where you are actually placed inside the virtual environment.

How did you come to the conclusion of defining 5D in that manner?
The 5th dimension is something entirely different than what you explained. The X Y and Z axes in cartesian coordinates are what make up space as humans percieve it. The 5th dimension is something that humans merely can't percieve. What you are talking about is virtual reality, not 5th dimension.

I was referring to space in a different sense... it's been explained to me before, but I can't remember which cIass it was in. Basically, it's the idea that you exist in one particular place within a defined space. You can't exist here and there. Please Log In to post.
