I just want to know what games everyone liked in 2012. My favorite was The Walking Dead. I'll even be bold enough to say its my favorite game of all time.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Persona 4 Golden and Far Cry 3 are the only games from last year that I've really enjoyed. I'm not sure if I've got a favorite out of those three. I've got the Walking Dead and I need to finish it.

I just finished The Walking Dead and really came away impressed. I don't know if it was my favorite of last year, but it's definitely up there, and certainly higher than many games I paid over twice as much for.

Oh yeah? What chapter are you on? Just the first chapter actually. I got distracted by some other games and I'm going to get back to it once I finish them.

Spec Ops: The Line and Far Cry 3 are both my lead contenders for favorite of 2012, Far Cry 3 for just being the plain most addicting and fun game that year and Spec Ops for being the most important to gaming culture and incredibly well done when it comes to using gaming as a storytelling medium.
I think it's gotta' be Halo 4 for me, some people may argue that there were better quality games released through out 2012, but nothing has kept me coming back for more as much as Halo has annother quality game in a quality series.
Max Payne 3 just manages to beat Dishonored to take my number 1 spot. Kid Icarus: Uprising takes third with honorable mentions going to Dragon's Dogma and Dishonored for introducing the best new IPs of the year.
Would have been ME3, but the crappy ending and the DLC tricks EA pulled on us, took a huge chunk of enjoyment out of this game for me. So I'd say it's the Walking Dead '
Far Cry 3 is really good, so was Mass Effect 3, but I am not picking a GOTY this year. Nothing stood out last year. A lot of really good games, some great ones but nothing the calibur of Uncharted, Batman AA, Mass Effect 2 or MGS4.
Honestly, my GOTY wasn't even from this year. First time I played Psychonauts, and it was easily my favorite game of the year. If we're only counting stuff from 2012 then I guess either Spec Ops: The Line or Walking Dead. I don't know, I didn't really play many games realeased this year, and nothing that I did really stood out to me.

If we are doing this then Deus Ex - Human Revolution is my GOTY. :P
I felt like 2012 really didn't have any one game that really stood out. Borderlands 2 was a lot of fun, The Walking Dead was surprisingly good, and Far Cry 3 was a straight up blast to play at times. But nothing in the year really made me say that there was one game alone that could be called GOTY.Â
Then some close games are The Walking Dead, Max Payne 3, and I am just now getting into Spec Ops the Line but so far it is pretty good and based on what I've heard I have hopes for it. Then maybe Halo 4 somewhere after that.
Mass Effect 3. I even finally bought some DLC because of this game after boycotting all DLC this entire generation. Oh well at this point in time I think it's safe to say my DLC boycott didn't work.
