Just saw the Final Fantasy ad when I went to gamespot. The ad was full of full screen images, and fantastic closeups, etc.But when you play a game, the figures are nothing like the ad.

So what would be required to makea game look like the ad? Ridiculous amounts of memory? $$$$$ ?

The images you see in ads are not in-game. They are either pre-rendered with the game engine or are CGI. Simply said, current consoles are not powerful enough to make games look that good. You'll need to wait a console generation or two.

If those images are actually ingame, only PC hardware will be capable enough to use all the texture and effects with highest quality.
