The problem I had with MKvsDC is the competition showed how good a fighting game can be. SoulCalibur, Tekken, SF, UMK3, Ehrgeiz, Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive. Really.
It doesn't match up well with other 3D fighters. I mean look at how much better and smoother games like VF, Tekken, SC, and even DOA look. Graphics don't matter too much in a fighting game, but smoothness and great animation quality makes a fighting game so much more fun to play, and MK vs DC doesn't have that.
Never mind character balance is all off with plenty of characters having infinite moves and stupid properties.
Mortal Kombat Vs DC had a nice concept and interesting gameplay mechanics and ideas, but it just didn't go over so well with the crowd.
Granted, this was aimed at comic fans, but dropping down the violence was a bad idea. They even went as far as to censor The Joker's headshot fatality, cutting away from the shot and showing the Joker perform the move. It just wasn't solid enough.
Plus, just like with every MK game designed, it was also broken. I've seen few MK Vs DC videos where few characters can easily beat a character up in one round with the same combo over and over again. It was a mess.
^Acutally, the story mode was the only mode I enjoyed in that game. But I enjoy some bad acting and writing..Well..I love it, actually. so that was a dream come true to me.
