What is the best Stealth Series

MGS has a heavy story with lacking gameplay mechanics of stealth (but still good), just not my cup of tea. I'd say Hitman or Assassin's Creed because they have the best stealth mechanics and AC has an immerisive story. Splinter Cell doesn't look like a stealth game -- It's a hit, slash and burn game with some stealth factors incorporated... Lol, I don't know what that game is.

As for Thief and Dishonored, I'm clueless.

And for Tenchu, I'm completely clueless.

Hitman especially the older ones.

But Dishonored was my favourite stealth game this past gen.

Also Deus ex human revolution deserves a mention.

Thief obviously was the best pure stealth series. (mainly 1 & 2)

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Hitman: Blood Money, Manhunt, Dishonored and Tenchu: Stealth Assassins are some other really good stealth games.

Also the 'true' tactical shooters like Rainbow 6 (Raven Shield and earlier titles), Ghost Recon 1, SWAT 3/4, OFP/Arma games you have to be very stealthy. (or else your dead)

splinter cell chaos theory was so awesome when it first came out. that is my favorite stealth game. i remember me and my friend would play coop and get far into the level then i would just shoot him off the zip line or throw grenades and alert all the people. those were some of my best memories on xbox live lol.
