I'm looking into them, and I don't know which one to get. For one, I can't find a PSone, but can find an original (used) with controller and cords for $12.99. The store I called says they test the systems when they come in. How is the lifespan of PlayStations? Do they stop working after a while? Or are they relatively good? I would be fine purchasing a used N64, but how are PlayStations? Thanks.

No difference as far as I know, except the PSone is smaller but thats pretty much it. Had a PS for years now and never had a problem with it, they seem to have less problems than the PS2 though I never had any with either system.

Yep. But as far as reliability goes I think the original had more wild stories. Some people would flip them upside down to work and there were some whacked out methods. I don't remember that being a problem with the revision (PSOne) though.

Now that you mention it, I remember my cousin giving his PS1 a solid thwack to work on occasions!
