Yes, I trust Criterion that they will create the first real good NFS since 2002. And even if it was some other dev: The Hot Pursuit formula can't go wrong.
I've been waiting for Blizzard to make a Starcraft II since I first beat brood war ..... which was a really long time ago......so close yet so far away!
Other than that I can't come up with any at the top of my head. I guess I preordered Kingdom Hearts birth by sleep......but it's not like I'm over joyed by it or anything...it was just one of those "pre-order on a whim" type thing.
I was waiting for the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia. But I got tired of waiting and came to the conclusion that localization will never happen, so I bought a 360 a few days ago.
Skyward Sword has certainly taken a lot longer than I expected it to; I was expecting them to have the game ready for E3 2009 to launch later that year. Instead, it shows up at E3 2010 as a 2011 game. Given how efficient Nintendo had become with pumping out new Zelda games, I was certainly expecting a whole lot more out of them in terms of release schedule. Alas, not the case. But the game I've been waiting for the longest, and will likely still be waiting for this time next year, is Beyond Good and Evil 2. I find it very interesting that the game is in development at all, given the supposedly poor sales of the original, but it's certainly gained a cult following over the years and thanks to digital distribution, probably has found its way into a lot more hands than those initial sales numbers would indicate. Ancel's comments that it's being worked on by a small team does not promise that this title is going to get done anytime soon, though. I wouldn't be surprised if it launches sometime around the tenth anniversary of the original game. We can only hope, if he plans to continue with his initial concept of a trilogy (though I hope he wraps up the story with this one; I'm not sure he'll get a green light on the third one if the second game is not a smash), that it won't be another ten years.
