gotta be Mortal Kombat 2 for me. nearly twice the characters, moves, levels, violence, and addictiveness as the original i'd say i probably spent $100 in quarters on this game when i was little. sadly, it reminds me of when people used to line up to say "i got next". i remember the line of quarters at the side of the machine representing people waiting to play. ahhh, the good ol days. P.S. UMK3 was probably my least favorite. why couldn't xbox live arcade get MK2 instead?

Bubble Bobble

Snow Bros.

Both were and are tremendously fun and were perfect for coop multiplayer.

Street Fighter II. It was, like, the game I always dreamed about. And then it suddenly came true. For a fan of fighting games since Yie Ar Kung Fu, this was a godsend.

As far as arcades go I was always more of a pinball guy. Pinball just can't be recreated on a console, so I would always take advantage of my times in the arcadeby playing them. My favorite would Arabian Nights, though the Adams Family pinball machine is a very very close second.

If I had to choose a non-pinball game though I'd go with Street Fighter Alpha. That was the game that all my friends played in college. For all the quarters we put in that machine we could have bought a nice piece of property.

I have been watching eBay for a while now, and at some point I'm going to pick up an Area51 cabinet... They seem to run around $400-500, which is a lot, but I really like the hell out of that game.

Was that the shooter that had a guy who looked like Mike Tyson in the beginning yelling at you, "STAY LOW" or something like that?

i'd say maximum tune 2. the nearest arcade to my house is an hour away and i go there for this game. sure i play the awesome capcom fighters too, but i really go for the racers. i love the surround sound speakers all around the cabinet and in the seats blasting awesome adrenaline pumping techno music. its fun to upgrade your car and get challenged by strangers who come by. thats where the real trash talking begins.

NBA JAM owned me for a couple of summers back in the day when people actually went to arcades, that game would get epic with 3 others at the helm.
