Getting to work on a new fighting game. Checking out characters, new moves, new tactics. It's like a box of chocolates.
This is going way back, but back when I was a kid playing the original Legend of Zelda I had a moment that I don't think I've ever been able to top. For weeks me and my friends were trying to find the Level 7 Labyrinth, and were having no luck at it atall. We figured it had something to do with that one lake without the fairy, but we tried just about everything and nothing worked. So after another day of failing to find it at the lake, we decided to go the opposite side of Hyrule and look there. So I took out the flute to warp to the other side, and all of the sudden the lake started glowing and BAM we see stairs.
All of us flipped out like we had won the lotto. We got on the phone and called half the kids in my 5th grade class since we were all stuck in the same spot, and the next day I was a hero. I never had another moment like that, and with the internet and gaming magazines, there aren't really in-game secrets like that anymore than can frustrate groups of people at one time like that. It may have been 20 years ago, but it was a great moment.
The knife fighting cutscen in RE4.....that cutscene is so amazing, it never gets old.

That's a good one. I completely agree.
There were a couple of absolute golden moments in FFVII including using the final Omni-Slash on Sephiroth, breeding a golden chocobo (for no reason) and of course that moment...you know which one I mean.
The appearance of the T-rex in Tomb Raider was pretty amazing as well.
I had been playing "Gran Turismo 4" with my girlfriend and was getting hungry so I went into the kitchen to make a sandwich.....
I started to hear my controller rumble over and over and over and constant wall crash sounds.....
I finished making my sandwich and walked back into the living room.....
I found my g/f constantly crashing into the wall with the controller in between her legs.....
I silently thanked the gaming gods and just stood there and watched for a few minutes until she was done.....
Then I said "Hey baby....." and scared the crap out of her.....
She was so embarrassed.....

Yeah, I also like the feeling you get when you get unstuck in a game after being stuck forever...
