Poll What is your favorite fighting game franchise? (101 votes)
Recently started really getting into fighting games. I'm wondering in your opinion what is the best overall franchise.

Soul Calibur hands down! Can't wait for 6 to come out. I even got my pre-order for the Collector's Edition already set.
Tekken, use to be a series I played in the arcades all the time and the likes of DRO, T6, TTT2 put hundreds of hours into online.
Then T7 happened. . and I died inside.
Meter bars never did work in a 3D Fighter, and for the longest time the Tekken team didn't only know this; Harada Katsuhiro san would commonly chat why it didn't work in a 3D Fighter. Turning a once well balanced series into another shallow 3D Fighter, and to make the feature more relevant, they deeply nerfed sidestepping making me wonder why it's even a 3D Fighter.
We really need a TTT2 remaster_
Injustice
Can't wait for Injustice 3 and returning characters from Injustice 1.
Also, can't wait for new characters to be added in to the game
DOA. I like how fast the game is. And the game is also "spammer friendly" like me, as the move list for each character is huge, so you always going to shoot out something cool, even with button mashing.
And the waifus... Yes, Kasumi is my waifu.
I used to be a big fan of finghter games but got bored with it.
Now I only play Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Smash. Injustice seems cool though.
Virtua Fighter lost me after the Saturn died, Tekken after 4. Never been interested in the clone like DOA, Soul Calibur or stuff like SNK etc
Other: Dead or Alive. Three is maybe the best fighting game ever made, and even though the later years haven't been as kind to this franchise I still find it to be a great series.
Tekken 3 is one of my favourite games of all times. I have been disappointed with the last 2 installments, but still a fun series. My pick.
King Of Fighters.
This is SNK's flagship and they have just as much experience as Capcom at making fighting games but were just late to change to 3d which they did, eventually albeit with minimal polish.
So it went from being the best pixel art in the business, to the best high-res art and hand drawn animation which took them till the 14 iteration or something (KOF14), then the next year they tried their hand at 3d. Turns out if your making a 3d fighting game for the first time it will not be the best 3d fighting game ever but hey ho.
I would follow this up with Guilty Gear. A game I haven't played but know I would enjoy.
But KoF is probably the most technical and complicated system around whether or not your into that.

Agreed.
Tekken: Revolution and Tekken 7 are pretty garbage, it's a known fact from interviews that Harada Katsuhiro san and his team wanted to stop making Tekken games after TTT2.
However Bandai Namco keeps them on contract to sponge out more, apparently if Pokkén Tournament and Rise of Incarnates was successful Namco would have let the team move on.
But at least his team is taking over Project Souls work for Soulcalibur VI. I'm happy for the team able to move away from Tekken because they clearly wanted to end the series years ago. And in my opinion Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was a fantastic fighting game.
For me, it would be Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, Smash Bros, Darkstalkers and recently Tekken. Street Fighter is nice, but I don't like it that much as the others.
Virtua Fighter. It was smoother than 32-bit attempts in 2D mainly due to polygon animation and the games continued to be on their side. The third game was an odd entry, but Virtua Fighter 4: Evo and Final Showdown were among the best in 3D, and I love stepping into the depth, because it makes sense, due to the opponent that you must face at all times. I don't like the anime brawlers as fighters.
tbh i have never really liked those games. Not in my adulthood.
When i was a kid i played tekken 2, all games KEPT me interessted in them.
So i played with others at the daycare.. it was fun.
Today.. I have a completely different mindset. Games get boring quick now. And if a game is only about throwing punches, i am out.
too boring.
Tekken. It was the first ever game I played and had great memories. Tekken 3 hands down will forever be the best fighting game in entire Tekken series.
Street Figher.
Need to learn how to play Tekken properly, been sitting on Steam list for about a year now.
My favorite is Clash of Clans and its private servers are juts awesome if you wan to download its best server you can go here
https://clashlovers.com/clash-of-lights/
With this server you can get all of the features of real game which is clash of clans
Blazblue,, King of Fighters and Skullgirls are the only ones I've been giving any attention to. I only recently played though the original Injustice though which I really did like.
Tekken for me no doubt. I've played most of the fighting games in the industry and I gotta say, Tekken for me is the most complex fighter. The mechanics are made in such a way that it's responsive to human reaction like no other game. Blocking, dodging, parrying, stepping, sidestepping, etc. I get an adrenaline rush and feel so pumped when I get like a 50 DMG combo off a parry.
But that's just me, would like to hear your guys thoughts on your favorite fighters, what makes them special for you?!
That would have to be the street fighter series..
Street Fighter 2 : Championship edition, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III : 3rd strike are my all time favorites
