Tomb Raider 2013 (Finished 2013-03)

Tomb Raider: Anniversary (2014-12)

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (2015-01)

Tomb Raider: Legend (2015-11)

Tomb Raider: Underworld (2015-12)

Rise of the Tomb Raider (2016-12)

Tomb Raider II (2017-05)

Lara Croft GO (2017-06)

Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2021-01)

Tomb Raider (2024-12)

Tomb Raider III (2025-02)

Just started The Last Revelation. Did not care for the forced tutorial. I learned only one new move, the vine swing. In the previous games, the tutorials were in her house, if you chose to go there. I preferred to figure the controls out on my own through the course of the adventure rather than be told by Lara or this old guy. Also, I don't want to know Lara as a child, just as I did not want to know Indiana Jones as one in declined Last Crusade. Keep them simplistic, almost one-dimensional, with she barely saying anything, for the pulp.

Tomb Raider III might be slightly underrated. Already couldn't see myself playing the Survivor trilogy ever again, and now the Legend trilogy is a stretch too. The first generation of Tomb Raider on the PS1 was so much more engaging.

First played tomb raider on Saturn before I picked up the ps1 and tomb raider 2. Completely skipped the PS2 era games until returning during the 360 gen.

Played TRII first on a demo disk, then 1, then III, much later the other two.

Dabbled in Legend, thought it sucks, and all the rest after barring Lara Croft games suck.

Picked up Remaster Collection, great, good price, fantastic replay and play time. Very happy. Ignore "modern controls", pointless.

I forgot the movie. Wrote this February 2023.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)

American Angelina Jolie fakes an English accent and Englishman Daniel Craig badly fakes an American accent. There's so much to make fun of. The dumb padded cups she wears (pictured above) to make her boobs look more like in the games, the lack of weight in how she flips around and stuff (Well, that part's half and half good and bad for me.), how the characters just know how some ancient magical device (that are all dumb) is gonna work with seemingly no set up, how she showers like she is in a music video.

She doesn't do any "tomb raiding" until about 45 minutes into the movie and we don't even get to see her do that alone. She is always with the bad guys (Illuminati), so there's not that escapist solitary adventure mood you would expect from a movie based on these games. Why wouldn't you open a movie about an adventurer on the field? Establish what they are and what they do right off. Instead, we start with her fighting a training super robot in her own mansion. Apparently, "tomb raider" is a term used to refer to various people in her profession. Daniel Craig's character is one too.

Filmmakers excessively focused on the combat, to the point where they needed to give Lara this ridiculous ammo magazine rail that comes out of the bottom of her backpack somehow. I thought they weren't gonna go with the women can fight anyone barehanded thing, but towards the end she beats up the bad guy, Jorah Mormont from Game of Thrones.

I wanna know who these people are that find the thing with Lara's father interesting. Why do the stories have to keep centering on her father? Who cares? Just keep her mysterious, like so many quiet male heroes in movies.

Did they steal one of the last scenes from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? Jorah Mormont throws a knife at the Daniel Craig character and then tells Lara to use the time traveling device to save him. Indiana Jones had to get the cup to save his father, after bad guy shot him and told him what to do.

How she turned the knife frozen in time around and the music to that scene was kinda cool. Some of the fighting with the intruders in the mansion wasn't bad.

Poor movie that thinks it's cool.

Way back, I played demos of Tomb Raider 1 and 4, and did not like the controls. Never bought any of the Core games. At lot of folks here say it's great once you get used to it, so I might give one of them a shot sometime.

Liked the first reboot trilogy a lot though. I know this is not a popular opinion, but Underworld is my favorite.

Played a few hours of the second reboot, and felt it was too Unchartedey. Enjoyed the demo of Shadow though, and have the game in my backlog. Will get to it at some point.

Continuing The Last Revelation, I'm having trouble with the rope swing after the forced tutorial.

Lara's prior design was better. She looks more like a floozy in this. Like a Hooters employee. What appears to be a one-piece, high-cut swimsuit (indeed, shiny when toggling to the new graphics) under her shorts, bigger breasts (on a smaller body) with cleavage more exposed. Eh.

Stuck, I tried The Angel of Darkness (originally for the PS2) again, and was perplexed by the incorporation of stamina into climbing and hanging. It diminishes in no time. How could they look at all the climbing and hanging they had players do in previous games and think this was a good idea?

There's a vertical pipe on the side of a building in the tutorial area. She can climb it. But instead of simply leaping at it, you have to first push an object that you can climb onto, underneath. She can't jump at pipes, apparently.

Legend was my first and I've loved it ever since. And I consider Tomb Raider: Anniversary up there with Metroid Zero Mission as to how to do a remake.

I remember the first (?) one came out around middle school which would have been like mid or late 90's or so? I remember all us little boys were pretty horny for Lara and there were whispers of a "nude patch" lol

Tomb Raider has never grabbed me, but I bought the Tombraider Shadow Trilogy and might play through it eventually.

Played through Tomb Raider I, II, and III on the PlayStation back when they first came out. Really enjoyed them at the time but got a little tired of the franchise after the third game. Didn’t play any of them again until Angel of Darkness. Just very briefly played that and don’t really remember much of anything about it. Think I briefly tried Underworld as well but again don’t recall much of it either. Really got back into the franchise again with the reboot trilogy. Played Tomb Raider reboot, Shadow, and Rise. Really enjoyed all three.

Didn't own a playstation during her initial era and by the time I did get one that game wasn't in the backlog. I've gone back and played some of them, enjoyed playing through the reboot. Not really on my radar by and large.

I only have and played Trilogy on PS3. I enjoyed them. Wish the recent Remasters were given the same treatment.

Was turned off by the controls in the originals so never tried them besides some demo on those discs that used to come in magazines.

I had Tomb Raider 2 on Playstation though never beat the game as found it difficult in the Venice level. Played a demo for Tomb Raider 3 on a demo disc from Playstation Underground. Tomb Raider(2013) was the first Tomb Raider game I enjoyed and beat. I got Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider for PS4,years ago though never played through them completely. I played Legend, Anniversary and Underworld on PS3 though never beat them. Got the Tomb Raider I-II-III Remastered trilogy and will finally get to beat these games from my childhood.
