I recently bought one of those Plug-N-Play devices for my girlfriend with Super Mario Bros. on it. As I played, she started to laugh because I remembered EVERYTHING!! So, I told her that Super Mario Bros. is probably the most memorable game ever. As I said it, I realized that there were many memorable times video games have given me.

Besides Super Mario, I remember Big Boss turning on Solid Snake (Metal Gear), Tidus (and Yuna) realizing he's actually dead (FFX), Psycho Mantis moving my controller (MGS), A dog jumping through the window (RE) making me jolt so hard, I paused and took a break to rest my nerves, creating my Super Hero on notebooks before applying it onlne (City of Heroes), And more recently... Unpacking my PS3 (a year ago) and seeing games for the first time in HD!

But, I'm sure I'm not the only one with fond memories...

Your turn ;)

When I stop playing EQ.

To sums it up, imagine a 4 years old kid to which you remove unjustly his toys, just because you can...and imagine that this kid hold grudges for years...because it was unfair. :P

Mine would be the time when I got my Sega Genesis. After playing my Sega Master System for a few years, then finally getting my Genesis, hooking it up, then hearing that stereo digitized sound, along with those updated graphics, it really blew me away as a young kid. Never forget it.

The day my best friend got the brand spanking new NES with SMB. We played for 2 days solid! We had never played anything like this and it was quite an upgrade from Coleco. Unforgettable.

First playing Shadow of the Colossus after realizing what the game is actually about.

Probably the most memorable and emotionally moving event for me was in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines when:
Heather Poe, your ghoul, is killed by the Sabbat. I have never and probably will never again in the future experience both extreme rage and sorrow while playing a video game. It was so incredibly unexpected and I had grown so attached to her as both my character and me personally that it struck me like nothing else in gaming has and actually caused me to "lose-it" emotionally. I didn't break anything but had no quandaries mercilessly crushing the skulls of every Sabbat I encountered from that point on.
I really want to go back and play through Bloodlines a few more times as different kinds of vampires (most notably Nosferatu, Malkavian and Tremere) but the amount of time it takes for a single play through is difficult for me to muster. I made it to Downtown as both Tremere and Malkavian a while ago but never found the time to go back and finish. I *really* want to finish the game as a Tremere and get that special, Tremere-only apartment. Not to mention Thaumaturgy is quite excellent. Making an enemies blood boil to the point that their body explodes and causing damage in a radius around them? Epic win.

I'm a PC gamer so, yea, a little bias here

The Max Payne and KOTOR series. I have never been so enthralled with the plot of a video game before these. I must have put hundreds of hours in to them. Heck, I wanna brush off KOTOR 2 and play it again right now.

Also, FEAR. I've never been so freaked out by a game that I had to walk away from it for a little while. FEAR did that to me.

The opening level of Metroid Prime, so tense, walking around the spaceship, seeing the dead and the destroyed, and reading about spinal columns and organs being eaten, and seeing the parasites eating a bleeding corpse.

Renting Resident Evil 1 for the PS and trying to play it without a memory card (we didn't have one and no stores were open at 11pm).

Made it 8 hours too without dying before finally succumbing to a giant plant in the greenhouse. Playing without a memory card was incredibly stupid but made it that much more scary/memorable...Oh, and the hellhounds through the window, of course, were probably the most memorable moment of that gam.

Needless to say, I've never touched RE:1 ever again (but had a ridiculous good time with RE:4 on the 'Cube).

There's alot to choose from. The one that first comes to mind was when I saved up my pocket money as a kid and bought the SNES Street Fighter 2 bundle for christmas. I annoyed my parents so much cos I kept sneaking upstairs to my room to play it, think I put in 6 or 7 hours all up on Christmas day when I was meant to be spending it with my family, lol.

Well my most memorable moment was in a Fighting game: Marel Vs Capcom 1

I was fighting the team before the Boss of the game. And let me tell you it was a great fight I will NEVER forget. It's hard to explain. It was so good that had I lost that fight I wouldn't have been mad and it was on my 8th try so I was getting pissed off.
