i think the last game i bought was moss for the index on my PC. this year hasnt really been a game buying year for me.
not due to a lack of games...oh GOD so many games. its just i have decided to start taking a lump out of my backlog before buying new games.....and most of the games on my TODO list are huge. i have 4 total war games alone. civ 5 is also sitting there. i could go on and on....no shortage of games so no more game buying for a while.
I did get a vega 64 and a Fractal Design Meshify S2 case to house it in. my 11 (maybe 12) year old PC case couldnt house it (a V64 nitro+).
I usually wouldnt bother upgrading from an RX 580 to something like a vega 64 or GTX 1080....i would like a bigger jump. but the 4GB 580 just wasnt cutting it for VR on the index. I was hunting around for something around the gtx1080 mark for around 350 quid to tide me over but rare as frickin hens teeth (stores were looking for 450 euros for a used 1080). then a store here was selling a new V64 nitro+ for 320 euros (clearing out stock for navi i suppose).
so that does the job for VR now. i was planning to do a full PC upgrade in 2020 but with that unexpected GPU upgrade i may now hold off until 2021-22..i will see how it goes.
its been a very hardware focused year gaming wise. new tv as my old one (10 years old) blew. a new GPU, case, power supply (my old one was 10 years old....its being repurposed for an old build i am passing on)and index VR headset. outside of some VR games though i havent bought many games.
