What kind of game is Physconauts?

I have a PS2 and am seriously thinking on trying out Physconauts. I just need to know one thing what is it similar to or what genre would you represent it as.

It's an action 3rd person platformer with adventure themes throughout.

Just a run-of-the-mill platformer.

it's a 3D platformer really innovative because incorporates classic adventure game elements. ArtStyle is unconventional along a really interesting and moving story

It's a 3-D platformer with a couple of adventure elements thrown in. It's a great game though, you should definitely give it a try.

It's the kind of game that people often misspell. :)

But seriously it's all the things mentioned so far (3D Platformer, unique and interesting world/characters/story) plus a semi non-linear path and the ability to explore.
