Him, the following question is for my friend, and this is either proving that i am a very helpful friend, or i'mbored.

My friend has recently decided that he was going to buy a PS3. I am excited, seeing as how i own a PS3 and we can play online games to together and do voice chat and such. Then i go on vacation to North Carolina, see Smashing Pumpkins perform live, find a $300 emerald, then i come back home. I call him, and we start to get a talkin about PS3 and what-not. Then he comes up and says, "Well, i've been thinking about it and i might get a laptop instead of a PS3." That was not a direct quote. He used to be huge into orignal Xbox, as to the point to where i mention my PS2, he replies saying "The Xbox is SO MUCH BETTER, it has much better graphics, making it a better console." That was a direct quote. Now when we talk about 360, we both agree it is just Xbox... with a 360 added to the end of the name. But the reason he wants a laptop... is for Halo 3. Halo 3, a game that wont come out for PC until maybe 2009, most likely 2010. He is in love Resistance: Fall of Man, and he also loves the comfortable controls and free expansion pack on Oblivion. He also enjoys Warhawk. What games he play on PC you ask? Right now, all he plays is the original Doom and Quake 2. And he will soon get Halo 3. I use "soon" very loosely.

So my question is, which will be the better buy for him? An all-around PS3, or a Laptop. Oh, and i amnot sure which laptop he is going to get, so we'll just say one that costs $600.

That depends on personal tastes really. IF he enjoys the styles of games PCs offer vs the PS3 or whatnot. A laptop has a lot more functionality than a PS3 so if he plans on using it for a bunch of other things the laptop would be a wiser decision. However if this is based solely on games its up to his tastes.

Me and him both agree that you are an idiot. Sorry about leaving the First Problem part out of the quote.

From your post it is obvious that you are biased towards the PS3. As for your friend, why does he want a laptop instead of a cheaper machine that plays Gears, Oblivion, GH2, Lost Planet, and will play Halo 3, the xbox 360?

Because he has an Xbox, and it is the same as the 360. He said that, he just doesnt like the 360. He doesnt like any of the games on their and said he thinks PS3s lineup looks beter and more fun.
