By ME I mean Mass Effect pretty sure everyone knows that but just in case. Basically what's in the title like gameplay mechanics that take years to understand and stuff like that, no spoilers please, I want to play the trilogy blind. I plan on making an Adept so Information on Adepts would be great. I plan on playing the whole trilogy from 1 to 3 and then Andromeda so anything that you could tell me about the whole Mass Effect series that I should know that has nothing to do with the story or how bad people say The Mass Effect 3 ending is would be great. Thanks in advance, I'm so excited to start playing I'm getting the first game on Tuesday and yes I plan on playing all the DLCs, and isn't Kaiden cute! Lol.

Adepts are basically "mages" of Mass Effect, or what they call Biotics; they cast "spells" that manipulate dark energy in various ways or order to make physics do their bidding; push stuff, pull people and things, even make tiny wormholes to lift things in suspension.

That's not to say they don't get their hands dirty; they shoot guns (pistols), and can get up close or far away, though they are pretty easy to kill relative to other classes so they are best sitting in back lobbing their biotic abilities. I can't remember when they added it in (maybe the first game?), but you can trigger "biotic explosions" by casting a long-term biotic ability like singularity and then setting it off with shockwave; it's basically like pouring out some gas then lighting a match...but with your brain, and physics, and blue wavy gravity fields :P It's fun, and rewarding. You can also set these combos up with your teammates, which is fun, too!

As for the games themselves, since you have not played them I won't say much. The ME3 ending was not great, but people greatly exaggerate how terrible it was. Just...don't expect the ending you deserve for how awesome the ME trilogy is. Enjoy the ride, not the last three minutes.

Yeah, Kaiden is cool, I'm more of an Ashley fan though :P

@mrbojangles25: thanks so much for answering! Out of however many hours it's been you were the only one, you deserve a prize but I ain't got one lol. Yeah I love mages in traditional RPGs so adept is my thing, yes I've heard people say how bad the ending is I'm glad people exaggerate but you know these games have some passionate fans, I haven't played obviously but I've seen some stuff (like Kaiden) and from what I've seen of Ashley she's someone who would probably get under my skin she's like the opposite of me she seems to be very military minded where has I'm more of a dimplomat I think in Star Wars terms (Star Wars is the only thing I can compare to Mass Effect) she's a Jedi Knight and I'm a Jedi Consular she's Mace Windu and I'm Yoda lol, people also say she's a space racist so yeah not my thing, Andromeda is what made me want to play The Mass Effect Trilogy, I made a thread asking if I need to play The ME Trilogy before Andro and people said no but I decided to anyway and in Andromeda I really like Jaal and the Angara and I also like the Asari they look pretty cool to don't know much other then they have one gender and are good at biotic I've been spoiled too much but it's been out for however many years so it was bound to happen anyways I'm rambaling thanks for answering I really appreciate it. :)

@thecrone: haha yeah, if you diplomatic, then Kaiden is definitely your best choice :D Ashley is all soldier, all the way. She is like a cliche marine, but not in a bad way (she is smart, independent). As for "space racist", I would not go that far; she is pro-Human/Human-first, and you're going to find out why very soon into the game why she feels that way. It has a lot to do with Ashley being both military, from a military family, and a patriot.

She definitely does not hate aliens, though, but I think if it came down to it she would sacrifice a bus load of alien school kids to save one human kid without hesitation lol.

***ANDROMEDA SPOILERS!!***

I'm also enjoying Jaal and the Angara, it's fun because they don't 100% trust you, and they are not pushovers. You need to win their respect; they have a solid foothold in the galaxy, while you--the new arrivals--do not, and Jaal is completely open-minded to you without being a fanboy. Plus he is just cool.

The "disaster" that was ME3's ending was GREATLY over-exaggerated, even before the free Director's Cut DLC.

With the DLC (which I personally thought actually made the ending worse), it was still a sold C- to B-. Not great by any means, but not an atrocity like it was made out to be.

Also, VERY mild spoilers here (it's safe to look if you are a couple hours in ME1):

I'm 26 hours into ME:A and there has not been ONE mention of Shepard OR the Reapers, which were the main focus of the original trilogy. Very odd. But I'm not even halfway finished yet.

Medium level spoilers: Look if curious about how the trilogy plays into Andromeda (I don't spoil anything specifically, just a generalization):

A lot of Shepard's major deeds get disregarded (as in did not happen), which is very disappointing. Lots of other various minor references, though.

With the DLC for 2 & 3, I wouldn't install the comicbooks that let you fabricate a history as you are creating one anyway. There's a bug in the one for ME2 where it sometimes kicks in even though you've imported your history from ME1.

With Adept type character I had major problems completing on Nightmare level with one in ME2, had no problem with the other classes, Infiltrator was the easiest class to play on Nightmare in ME2 and Engineer in ME3. Stretching my memory, but I think Soldier was the easiest class in ME1.

If you're on a PC platform and prefer using an XBox 360 controller, there are mods for all three games available.

Absolutely nothing. This is a story focused 'talking to people simulator'. The less you know going in, the better the experience will be.

You should know that you must play them in the correct order, it's graphics have got better over the years so personally I would say number 3 has the best graphics but nowhere near having a great storyline as ME1 and ME2, I didn't really enjoy Mass Effect 3 very much, this was because you basically get less privileges as to where you can go, it's a long game but you can't like move around as much as you could in ME1 and ME2.

I don't wanna give out too many spoilers, so that's as much as I can say...for now.

Hope this helps you.

I never played three. Never cared to. To me, it's not a trilogy; it's a dilogy.
