What was the first video game that you ever played online?...

Basically what was the first game that you ever played online that had online capabilities?anywhere from PC to Xbox 360 is welcome. It has to be the first game that YOU ever played online, even if you only played it for 5 minutes! :P

Mine was Quake III: Arena for the PC... good times. While Quake III did indeed hook me to online play, the game that REALLY made me appreciate it was when Call Of Duty was released for the PC in 2003.

I would sadly have to say Halo 3. I played Halo 2 LAN if that counts. :P

Diablo, fills me with nostalgia until I remember all the times I was back stabbed and or killed by people using a trainer, the nostalgia tends to fade after that.

Counter-Strike, I guess... long ago.

Killzone 1. I remember trying for hours to get the online to work cause it wasn't working for some reason. And when it finally worked I was amazed, and kept thinking I was actually only playing with AI bots and not real people haha.

Mario Kart DS, actually. Never really had any online games before that, only a gamecube and some PC games.

i never had xbox live or anythinkg like that... i played a flash game on the internet:P..

other then that the first game was super smash brothers wii..

I played multiplayer online on Halo for PC a really long time ago.

quake 1 on direct dial to my friend. It sucked cause his little sister kept picking up the phone while I was dialing lolAutoPilotOn

i loved to play timesplitters 3 but ea said **** you get a current gen console to all the people who played the ps2 version online

i don't really remember. i think it was resistance for PS3. or the R6V1 demo for X360

Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS. It was at a mcdonalds and only got to play for like 5 min and I was winning but the dude quit

NHL 2K5 on the original Xbox. Oh the memories, that was a great game (at the time).

Counter-Strike

It was still in beta back then, version 0.7 or something like that.

For me it was "NFL Fever" for xbox.... that was until every second person I would play would disconnect in the last 2 minutes so they wouldn't lose. Since then I stopped online gaming. TOO MANY SORE LOSERS!!

Phantasy Star Online v2 (DC). It was awesome in the earlier days, so many players. Very much began my interest in online multiplayer gaming :)

Unreal Tournament 2003. I'd played UT on the Dreamcast and thought I'd give online gaming a go. Got destroyed, but it was ace. :-P

World of Warcraft. I started before BC and WoW was the best back then, it's not as fun anymore. What amazed me about WoW at first was how huge the world was.

My first online game was the original Counter-Strike.

My first online game was Mario Kart DS. It was quite addictive back then, but I got tired of how people cheat in that game so much...
