Technically I started on the Atari 2600. My older sister had one that I'd play from time to time, but it would never hold my interest for long. I distinctly remember playing BurgerTime, Pac-Man, Phoenix, and Donkey Kong.

But I didn't truly fall in love with gaming until I was about 6 years old and laid my hands on a Nintendo NES. I instantly fell in love with Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. I then begged my parents for one. My mom and Grandpa went in on halves for one for me for Christmas and I got of course Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge that comes with the NES that I so coveted. I also received with it Star Soldier, Pin-Bot, Bionic Commando, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A pretty nice start. I still like every one of those games.

My first experience was The Punisher Sega Genesis. :D It was my brothers and I played when he wasn't home. I don't own either of those though :/ . I love the Genesis though one of if not my favorite console.

The first I can remember was SMB3. Awesome. Wouldn't change that in any way. Granted, the game that seriously got me into gaming was Ocarina of Time, then the game that made me realize just how amazing games can be was Majora's Mask.

I remember first playing games on a PC, it was when I was really young and a few of the games I can remember were; A Snoopy game, a rugrats game, and some construction site game. The first time I played on a console, was at my neighbors house on the NES, playing Super Mario Bros. 1. The first time I got my own console and decided I would never leave my house again, was when I got a PS1 for christmas with Twisted Metal 3, Frogger, and Hot Wheels Turbo Racing.

Probably Commander Keen on the PC. N64 holds the most sedimental value for me though.

I started on my Uncle's NES...I remember in Super Mario Bros that the first Underground level I was mad I couldn't go through the tight space as big mario. So I tried bashing up to the ceiling and I was stunned I could do that. Then my uncle came in and said I was cheating and I said NAH UH!!!

:P

I never owned a console until 1995...Then I got a SNES for my birthday and still play it to this day.

My earliest memory is actually me playing Super Mario Bros when I was 2 or 3 at my aunt and uncle's house. I barely remember it, just me sitting in front of an ancient TV and running into the Goomba.

I started around 1981. The corner store use to have a Galaga arcade machine. Everytime I went in there I use to bug my mom for quarters. I was only 5 at the time. Also at the same time my neighbor had an Atari with Pacman. They would never let me play all I could do is watch.

My first console was a NES in 1986.

Everybody has a starting point somewhere and for me it was the Commodore 64! The starting point usually gives you the greatest sentimental values. What platform did you start with and do you still have warm feelings for it? Do you still own it and is it operative? And what was the first game you ever played; Mine would be commando on Commodore 64 - Great game, terrific music and superb overall.

My first gaming platform was actually an Intellivision (B-17 Bomber, Night Stalker, the Tron games and Astro Smash were my faves) but I didn't turn hardcore until my Commodore 64. Games like Commando, Parallax, Bruce Lee, Koronis Rift, Wasteland, Bard's tale etc. Still love the SID chip

The SID still is awesome! I really think that some of the best arrangements have been made with it. The music of Spellbound and The Last Ninja is one of the best ever composed for a computer game.

I started on the PC somewhere in the 90' & my first game was the original Rayman (1996) along with Dave & Earthworm Jim and some others.

I think this is why im a pc gamer, because this is where it all started...

I played some consoles too when i was a kid (Pokemon Gold/Silver... how i loved those games....), played some Mario... dont remember the console though.

Good times.

The first time I ever played a video game was at my cousin's house when I was 4. They had a Sega Genesis and I remember playing Sonic and not wanting to stop. lol in fact I begged my parents to let me spend the night there one time and I played it until my aunt forced me to go to bed. I ended up getting my own Genesis later that year on my 5th birthday and that is what began my transformation as a video game addict.

I do own a Genesis, as well as all the core Sonic titles on it, and I still love it, however my memories of the Genesis are far less find than memories I have of playing my N64 and Dreamcast. Also, in terms of 16-bit systems, I actually like the SNES more, however back then I swore by my Genesis even though I owned an SNES back then as well. Regardless, I still have far more Genesis nostalgia than SNES nostalgia.

No I don't think I had that one, or even played it, but the little propellar thing on his backpack rings a bell, though I don't remember playing any game that looked like that back then except for maybe Pitfall.

First system I ever played was definitely NES. I am not sure what the first game was but I think it might have been Jaws--though I didn't let that deter me from playing more.

An uncle of mine gave me a NES in 1993 with about 18 games; highlights including SMB1-3, Castlevania and StarTropics. I absolutely loved the system then, and still play it on occasion today. Overall though I'm not the fan of the system that I once was. The system's limitations hold hold it back a bit too much, and I find that the SNES was the first system to really hold my interest indefinitely.

Let's see here, I was a wee lad, early high school. I was young and desperate. It was at a party that me a few friends went to where the dirty deed took place. After a few drinks of liquid courage (under-age drinking is bad kiddies, I never claimed to be a role-model), I struck up a conversation with a cute curvy brunette girl...well, at the time I thought she was cute...it was my first experience with beer-goggles as well. I then proceeded fill her with drinks, because at the time I had zero class and even less game. Well, one thing led to another, and pretty soon she was practically sitting in my lap while playing in my hair. She led me to her and car, and then you wouldn't believe what she did next, she...oh, wait, you're talking about video games, aren't you. blush Good thing I didn't say anything obscene.

My first Videogame ever was late 1979 playing Asteriods in the arcade. Long before I played/owned any home systems. I did enjoy the videogame arcade from back in the day.

Sega Genesis: Sonic 2.

PC: Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

Gameboy Pocket: Pokemon Red

Not sure which came first, was quite awhile ago.
