Either Tetris for the Gameboy or Mario Bros./Duck Hunt for the NES. I can't remember which one came first actually.

Super Mario Bros for the NES. I think I was 3 or 4. My mom tells me I loved playing it so much I refused to stop to go to the washroom. I don't remember that part, and I don't remember when it was first brought into the house, but I definately remember playing it for hours on end. Then it broke. :( A few years later, the Sega Genesis marked my return to the gaming world with a copy of Sonic 2, and I haven't stopped gaming since.
Super Mario World was my first game because I remember my cousin getting an SNES for Christmas and the game was inside.

Same here. In fact, my Pong console is setting on my living room floor right now. It was in my wife's closet. She was cleaning it out the other night and found it.
I need to get this thing plugged in and powered up!!!
For Christmas in 1959 when I was 6 years old I got my first game - Electric Football, the closest to a video game available at the time.
I was already in college in the 70s and I did buy a copy of the first Home Pong game when it came out in 1976. I was 23 then.
