I was born after the release of the NES, and based on my first memories I had Duck Hunt/Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, Startropics, Galaga, Adventure Island, TMNT, and a few others I don't remember the name of.
Out of that list I'd assume Duck Hunt/Super Mario Bros. was the first game purchased with the system. I think it came with it?
Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins for the original Game Boy. (The first Mario game I actually played was the first Super Mario Land, but it wasn't my copy.) I still have fond memories of both of those games.
Donkey Kong in the arcade, then for NES the first one I played was Super Mario Bros over someone else's house. The first ones we owned were Ikari Warriors 2 and 1942 as those were the only things the store had at the time
I got my first NES when i was a kid...I was so excited to see that it had got a "300 in 1" catridge....later i found out it was actually 8 games which were repeated to make it 300...I remember it had games like lode runner , kung fu , popeye and "nuts n milk"(yep thats an actual name of a game and no its not what it sounds like ) those were the days!!
The first thing I remember was a hand held Donkey Kong, but differd significantly from the arcade version. First console game was Mario Bros./Duck Hunt combo.
Well I bought it from some other kid and got Super Mario bros 3 Ninja gaiden 2 Battletoads and Little Nemo: The Dream Master So those four games were my first Nintendo games.
I can answer this two ways, the first game I played on a Nintendo was Super Mario Brothers. But when I got my NES the first thing I played was Legend of Zelda. What an awesome Christmas...
My friend upstairs had a NES with Mario Bros \ Duck Hunt, but the first console I ever got myself was a SNES. That came with A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, and Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest.
Like most people here, my first game was the original Mario that shipped with duck hunt on the cartridge. I remember it like yesterday, how excited I was about the system. I remember the exact emotions and feelings of the carpet I was on at like 4 years of age. I remember sucking pretty hard (considering I had no experience) and my parents sucking even harder :D
