well as my last console was genesis,

whats more it was like more then great when i had to have the system, cause all we had been playing was 8 bit consoles for too long, so when me and my bro played wrestle mania arcade game we got excited (now i cannot believe a bad arcade game was able to attract me), so when we finaly had the console the feeling was too much amazing.

After purchasing it: Joy and anticipation.

After playing it: More joy and satisfaction.

Then I had a smoke. :P

I remember getting my PS2 with Star Wars Battlefront. I was really excited when I setting it up and very impressed with what I saw when I got the game going.

Let's see... 2600 to NES: Wow, games can look like this?

NES to Genesis: Hey, more colors, nice! Wasn't nearly as huge a jump, though.

Genesis to Saturn: Wow, you can put movies in games? Also, Wow, games can look like this?

Saturn to N64 (not a generation jump, but hey): Neat, an analog stick! Ugh, the sound sucks on this system. Amazing Mario!

N64 to PS2: Now THIS is what I'm talkin' about! and to Gamecube: Looks nice, but the games can't touch PS2!

PS2/Gamecube to 360: So this is why PC gaming isn't dead... ONLINE!, Wii: Yay, motion controls...zzzzzz... PS3: First: Man, they better start making some games for this, then: Oh yeah, this is what I'm talkin' about!

I worked all summer to buy my 360 and got one about 4 months after the launch. It felt great, and I switched to primarily an Xbox player ever since, although I do own a PS3.

i think i can share those feelings to and when i finally will have a ps2 after a month i will have greater moments for sure, i mean 250 hits, over 1000 games, let alone those 250 can stretch atleast a year, if played without a faq, and endless games like gta are there too, o my o my.

i got two choices original or pirated, but i care is for atleast 10 ten years of no problems in the console,

After buying: I couldnt wait to play, which i did as soon as possible

After playing: slightly disheartened (I had not played the PS2 in a year and I remebered the graphics being this good), I then went and played a bit of PS2 just to make sure the graphics were not as good and then I fell in love with my PS3.

Got my 360 at launch, my sons mom went and picked it up for me, I was at work, got off work, went and bought 2 games for it and got home went to bed, woke up and played the rest of the day and all night.

Got my PS3 about 2 months after launch, took it home set it beside my tv and about a month and a half later decided to open it. It took a while but now I get all multi-plat games for it

i felt that PC gaming was getting the short end of the stick and few of my friends gamed on there, so I was really happy when I bought my 360. It came packed with two games and i found a copy of Halo 3 (it was only a month after release at the time). I wasn't too surprised or blown away by the graphics because I got it two years after launch, but damn. i finally got a system that'll actually work with friends and parties. I can't say that I bought the Wii since it was a present for my younger brother, but I was kind of excited. I loved RE4 and really wanted to play RE4: Wii Edition (which was surprisingly fresh despite how I beat it several times over on other systems) and, really, that's all it had going for me. I've only had the wii for about a year and despite being one of the cheapest gaming choices available, I can't say that I'd buy it with my own money. I've played great games on there and I'm glad I have one, but the early moments with my 360 were much more exciting.
