Find another game with a rabid fanbase and a producer willing to bribe all the reviewers and maybe you'll have your game.
Personally, I'm glad the series is over. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, deserves that level of hype.

hahahaha :-)
Halo 4. :P
Honestly I don't know but I think Starcraft 2 or the next World of Warcraft expansion pack probably have the best shots at it right now.
Yeah, the main one I've been thinking of is the next WoW expansion, but even that's questionable. I don't know about SC2, mainly due to the fact that the series has been on hiatus for such a long time. No matter, I'm still looking forward to that one. :-DHalo 4. :P

amen to that
i think anything can challenge the halo series, in my opinion it is not the best series, they r all the same and noting new ever comes out in any of them. wow except that u can carry 2 guns and drive new vehicles, so whats big whoop. halo is the most overrated game of all time, and i mean of all time. they shouldnt even make a story mode for it cuz no one plays that, they should just call it halo online cuz thats all people bought it for. but like i said anything can challenge halo, the biggest ones r gears of war, metal gear, and god of war. i think those r the some of the best i have ever played
There's absolutely nothing out there that will be able to match Halo's level of hype, but critically and commercially, I think Super Mario Galaxy and Grand Theft Auto IV have a very good chance of surpassing Halo 3.

I haven't actually played Gears of War yet. I'd like to, seeing as how I've read so many positive things about it. I, myself, am not the biggest Halo fan. I liked Combat Evolved, but then my interest waned with the second one due to the strong "been there, done that" feeling I got. I can't discredit Microsoft, though. They've done a great job promoting this game. Seeing as how I haven't played the third one, I have to reserve my judgments. Maybe one day I'll get around to playing and see if it comes close to matching this hype. I can give a fair assessment at that point.

Ah, GTA IV. How did that slip my mind? Well, we can be sure that it'll be opening to quite the nice sized audience. :-)
There's a lot of buzz around SSB: Brawl, too. I wonder what will become of that.razamataz45
probably 2 million copies of SSB will be sold lifetime, but seriously it seems like no one buys as many games as those that own a 360, so really I can only see GTAIV passing Halo 3 in sales.

It sounds logical to me. GTA:SA was huge. There's no doubt that GTA IV will be just as big (most likely bigger) with the multi-platform launch.
