The map editor for Far Cry 2 is where I spent most of my time in. When I found out about Far Cry 3's announcement, I was wondering about how the map editor was going to turn out.

To be honesty with you, I wouldn't mind if Ubi Soft recycled everything from the last game, with some new features:

Concrete floors as paint textures - For those who don't want to create dirt roads, I imagine that some of you use the concrete platforms and sink it into the ground. But that obviously takes up memory, so why not have concrete as a paint texture? Paint textures doesn't take up any memory, and it'd be great to have concrete as one of the options.

More Furniture - There's no TVs!

Walls and Roofs - This is something we want when we create our own unique buildings. Having a variety of walls of roofs would be a good inclusion.

An increase in memory - I don't know if this was on the PC version, but one 360 and PS3, the amount of memory that was in the map editor is up to 40,000. That's a good size, but I don't know if it's possible to increase, but if it is, it'd be a nice add on.

Assuming the editor is still there, I don't see many variations coming in the FarCry 3 version: it already seems polished and streamlined enough to be left alone. More than the multiplayer, I'm interested in the single player part of the game: all they need is to include a nice story and characters and diversify the missions a bit more, maybe allow fast travel between unlocked safehouses. Also, weapon customization (a la Army of Two 40th day) would turn it into the ultimate gun nut dream. I really hope Ubi delivers with this one.

I'm defiantly not going to deny that the single player for Far Cry 2 has problems. I do hope that the single player is much better in Far Cry 3.

Like I said, I wouldn't mind if Ubi Soft recycles the map editor from Far Cry 2, it's great as it is. But, I would like to see some new features, like, the ability to create single player missions like in TimeSpiltters.

Other games with a level editor has done some recycling, like the Tony Hawk games.

I'd like to see lighting effects for night time levels and to create fires, the 360 didn't support this! Also concrete road tool, to make it more urban style, instead of sand and dirt all the time, and the ability to make waterfalls and change the height of the water in different places! So I can have a lake on low ground and maybe a river on top of a cliff or something! Oh and the story in Far Cry 2 was bland!
