It depends. At first I put together a specialist class, so I wouldn't have to worry about getting help from others. Early in my levels (less than 10), I played one organized team against my..."team." Regardless of me putting up a fight, my team lost. I started my custom class over and more importantly, my gameplay. I have different classes set up for close range, but still able to defend and attack long range. Just as important, I started keeping my team alive.

Tier One: Don't bother with the re-arm perks (one man army, Scavenger), go with something that will put you in a better tactical position. I usually play Bling or Marathon.

Tier Two: Stopping Power or Cold-blooded. I usually go with Stopping Power.

Tier Three: Ninja

Primary Weapon: Up to you, I suppose. I usually go with a silenced UMP or a holographic FAMAS. Whatever will get you kills works.

Secondary Weapon: Shotguns do really well, IMO. I usually have an AA-12 with grip or extended mags. I take this out when heading into close quarters. When I play my UMP, which is already good with CQ, I sometimes use a Thumper. I don't generally play anti-air in S&D because air assets are a little more rare in that mode.

Equipment: Claymores. Properly placed, these will get you kills and every kill counts when you only have to make six total.
