Graphics have come a long way but also have a long ways to go. Although games these days look fairly close to the real-world they still don't behave like it in the slightest. There's no molecular structure, no properties, nothing. It's just a bunch of polygons with painted on colour and texture.
So I'd except to seethat change in the future, though it will make the whole process of making games all the more difficult. What happens to a design when walls can be destroyed? What kinds of calculations are we talking about and conversely how will it all be developed?
