What's the best looking game you played in 2015?

I'm talking about graphics/artstyle. It can be 2D, 3D any style. What matters is whether it looks awesome and aesthetically appealing to you. Obviously it's very subjective.

For me it would have to be the Witcher 3. I took like 200+ screenshots as I went through my 100 hour long journey. It was absolutely breathtaking. It's the first game that actually made me walk instead of run in the game world. The villages, the rivers, the cities, the sunsets... simply incredible! There was so much attention to detail and the witcher gear that you get in the game look so good! The character models were all top notch too and some monsters looked ugly as sin... and I mean that in the good way.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

2D has to be Ori & the Blind Forest.

It's probably the most beautiful 2D game I've had the pleasure to play. The backgrounds, the vistas, the vivid colour palettes, the sprite animations and the rich, detailed foreground environment just blends and contrasts so well across the varied environments that feature in the game.

if we are talking about graphics quality , for me it's Witcher 3 and Rise of the tomb raider .
but if its about the visual style , Ori and the blind forest was just stunning .

@BboyStatix: Totally agree with Witcher 3. But I would also add,

-Assassin's Creed Syndicate (Need I say anything?)

-Just Cause 3 (not great but while flying with the wingsuit everything looks amazing and the world is just wonderful)

-Mad Max (very plain but I think excellent)

-And opposing the general consensus: Fallout 4. I think with a bit of modding, some retextures, reshades and ENBs, fallout 4 looks amazing in terms of the atmosphere depicted.

I think MGS looked terrific it also had very well done cinematics with good camera work. So from that point I'd say that MGSV is the best looking game I played.

Rise of the Tomb Raider.

MGS : Phantom Pain impressed me the most graphically. the game go down into details like snake's struggling the wind comes from the chopper. I have to mention Bloodborne which also looks stunning!

all these people saying ROTR makes me excited to play it on PC when it comes out in a few days.

I'll give a shout out to Mad Max as a game that looked really stunning in 2015

Star Wars Battlefront was gorgeous. Not my favorite game (although good) but it looked great. The best game for looks would be Witcher 3

Batman: Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V, Forza 6, and The Witcher 3 were also some fantastic looking games.

the order was probably the best looking taken on a scene by scene basis but it was ridiculously linear so a lot easier to polish and barely a game so it doesn't count. the witcher 3 probably deserves it for such consistency in a game of that size, with mgsv not far behind as a game that actually pulled off a consistent 1080p 60fps with decent draw distance. having said that i think i'll go for arkham knight because gotham was stunning at times and a joy to fly around

The order 1886

2 games made me go wow this gen.

witcher 3: massive and gorgeous open world and towns and cities full of life. great technical prowess backed by wonderful art direction and level design. great looking characters, monsters and scenery.

xenoblade X: i always thought primorida was going to be the prettiest....and i was wrong. it's noctilum. i was rushing through this dense forest area to get to a mining point so i wasnt looking around much. but when i got there i looked around and it was just this open plain surrounded by waterfalls and cliffs. jaw dropped. then went furhter north and it get even prettier!

sure, with both of these games (xenoblade especially) anyone could find 1000 screenshots to show shortcomings. a low poly model here...a low res texture there. but when i just stand back and look at these games i think they both look stunning.

im also a sucker for a game with big open maps, a long draw distance and little to no loading screens :P.

Batman Arkham Knight, it took my breath away.

Bloodborne, artistically speaking. Just couldn't get enough of it's Gothic environments.

Wow, that's kinda hard. The one that came to my mind first was a Oculus Rift tech demo where you are close to earth in space, it looked so fantastic. But OR aside, I don't remember any game to blow me away. Don't get me wrong, games like Witcher 3 and Black Desert (Beta) look fantastic, but they didn't blow me away

Dying Light looks sweet. And Arkham Knight on PS4 was sexy too

ZombiU. Yes, the 3d models were hideous, but the environments are just GORGEOUS. Glad I finally got around to playing it. One of the most immersive worlds I've ever experienced.
