For me it was probably when I was younger and Final Fantasy 10 just came out.
I think I put around 10 to 12 hours into it that night.

80 hours straight?Chrono Trigger. Up to 80 hours, after completing the game for the first time and then trying to find everything else in the game, including all the endings.

Yes. Had no sleep. Was too addicted to the game. And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you take bathroom breaks, eat, drink, all that in between. But I gotta say, I was damn tired after 80 hours worth of gaming.
Probably around 26 hours or so. Start early around 4am one morning and still playing until about 6am the next day. Childhood summers were so fun.
Whoa, that's impressive. :) The urge to sleep would've gotten the better of most people even before that time.silentexistence
That's what a really good game can do to you. It can keep you glued to your television screen for long hours. However, I won't be like one of those guys that doesn't take a bathroom break or anything at all and just sits there and plays the game. Some people have unfotunately killed themselves because they weren't smart enough to take breaks when needed.

Fortunately, gamers who take things to unhealthy extremes like that are in a very small minority.

That's very impressive, and what a good game to have such a long session with! Chrono Trigger is one of my all time favorite RPG's of all time.Oh boy, I've had quite a few all nighter on games :L
The game that comes to mind is *ashamed* WoW... Oh man I got addicted.... 5pm-7am

Hey, it could be a lot worse. I have a friend that played the game for about 3 or 4 days straight...

Yeah, after my experience with Chrono Trigger, I can only play videogames for so long. And I eventually get to the point where a break is needed. Luckily, for us, those people are in the minority, so I'm glad it isn't everybody that's being unhealthy with that kind of choice.

That's very impressive, and what a good game to have such a long session with! Chrono Trigger is one of my all time favorite RPG's of all time. Chrono Trigger is my favorite role-playing game of all time. I recently visited a friend of mine not too long ago and he has a copy of Chrono Trigger and the SNES, so I plugged it in and played it. I took breaks this time and I got very far again...near the end of the game, in fact. I didn't beat it in time before I had to go back home, but it's such a fun game. I never get tired of it; from the amazing story to the unique battle system, Chrono Trigger is a classic.Anyway, sorry that I hijacked the thread with my love for the game. It should go back to the original topic! :)

I can never get enough Chrono Trigger talk to be honest. :P I have so many friends that have never played the game or ever even owned a SNES really....which I think is kinda sad. I use to be the huge role playing game fan out of all my friends so whenever I tried to talk about the game with them they would just kinda go "uh huh" or just go along with me because they had no idea what I was talking about.[QUOTE="Metamania"]Chrono Trigger is my favorite role-playing game of all time. I could go on for hours and hours about the game, storyline plot specifics, characters, battle tips, etc, anything about that game and I'm sure you would understand the language that I would have spoken in regards to Chrono Trigger. What a fantastic game. I had that experience with friends on that too; I would talk to them about CT endlessly and they would look at me like I'm from another planet or something.

Wow 80 hours that is some achievement imo.
Battlefield 2 (PC) via LAN with friends/co-workers at home and the wife n kids away visiting kin. Nothing but BF2, beer, munchies, and more beer over a whole weekend.
Video game? Prolly around 14ish hours. But, I was totally addicted to this text based MMORPG game some years back and I was literally logged in all day, whether it was through my phone or laptop or w/e. I would even give myself an alarm clock to wake up multiple times during the night to do w/e I had to do in the game. That stuff ruined my life... but I'm back to normal now :P
I don't know what my longest gaming session has been, but it's certainly not been anywhere near 24 hours.
I know I did really long play sessions on Twilight Princess, GTA: San Andreas, the Penumbras, and Amnesia. There are others, I'm sure.
I think one time me and my friend played Pokemon Firered together for the entire day. Like, it was a snow day, he came over around 9 am, and didn't leave til after dinner. And all we did was play Pokemon.
According to one of my friends, i spent a 24 hour period of time co-oping Champions of Norath on the PS2 some years ago. I don't remember playing that long, but it seems that i was parked in front of the television from one evening to the next evening.chicknfeetYou are my hero. That game was AWESOME! My brother and I spent a whole 3day weekend playing GTA4 once- 7am to midnight or later each day.
I don't see the sense in gaming marathons personally as if I'm tired I find myself not enjoying the game as much as if I were well rested. I guess the longest I've done is an entire day straight (pick up in the morning and play through till bedtime, so 12 or more hours), and that game probably would have to be Super Metroid.
I don't think I've ever played for more than a few hours at a time. My hands get tired & my head starts to hurt from staring at a bright screen. I can barely ever make it to the two hour mark in one sitting.

That's awesome. If my parents had let me do that I probably would've. The longest for me is probably 7-8 hours in one sitting, but there have been days where I get a lot more than that because I quit and come back multiple times during the day.
