Whats your favorite cut scene from any game?
Mine has to be when Dante is doing his monologue in Devil may Cry 4. :P
And When the city is being taken over in Freedom Fighters.

Make me feel it! Make me feel alive again snake! Awesome cutscene. Honestly im gonna have to go with the scene in god war 2 where kratos massacres Perseus in that giant pool fight. It literally made my jaw drop how bad you kick his ass, so awesome.Solid Snake's first encounter with Ninja in the original MGS.

I remember that terrible scene where that dude is dying and Dante with the bimbo are just kind of chilaxing and asking some questions while the guy is taking his death rather seriously. SO dumb.
My favorite cut scene is... I don't know
1.Ending of Ico: My jaw just dropped open and stayed there the entire time.
2. Devil May Cry 3 Opening Cutscene: You'd be hard pressed to find a cutscene as action packed as this one.

3. Metal Gear Solid 3 ending: very emotional and one of the best twists ever in a video game.
4. Silent Hill 2: When. . . (DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE GAME)
When James finds out HE killed his wife. The fact slams you and you can feel James intense guilt when he realizes this.
Yea that one was awesome. That reminds me, the original battle between Kratos and his army and the Barabarians in the original GOW was sweet also. Those games have some of the best cutscenes.
Oh, and Half-Life 2's ending.
The way the G-man rips away the player's control and how the game transfers to the credit roll with no load times at all is mesmerizing.
I like the introduction to the Beauty and the Beast in Metal Gear 4. Although i'd been better if the flying one stopped going "Rage! Rage! Show me your rage!" because I found that silly. I mean if you are pissed off like seriously angry about something to the point it's traumatised you to the point where you draw your inspiration from anger, you'd probably say something more on the lines of "Arrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! Die you F******!" saying "Rage, rage" kind of reminds me of Mr Furious out of Mystery Men.
ok I just put myself off that scene now. I'd have to think of a new one.
The opening cutscene to Onimusha 3. Makes everything else look crap in comparison... Check it out. It rocksND_basic
i agree.... tht 1 is frakkin' awesome....
i remeber seeing it for the first time and was dumbfounded...
It's good yeah but i'm a little bored of the "Japanese, guy killing everone in a big battlefield" type cutscenes. Lost Odyssey did one also and it doesn't excite me anymore. It's like that Final Fantasy Verses trailer with the Emo who can slay everyone and stop bullets. Yeah your so cool your unstoppable your the win "Yawn." I like action scenes but I prefer them to have more, how can I say it... Desperation in them.
I can't think of any to give an example, it might be something lacking in the games industry. What I mean is an action scene with drama! Think about the part near the end in the Movie "Leon." Leon is in his hotel with the little girl who he's trying to protect. They are trapped but they must fight and try to escape against the entire citys poilce department. Because of the nature of the film you don't know how it's going to turn out, you cheer for Leon and you want him to get out, the battle is against all odds but he's doing everything he can, the girl is panicing and bullets flying everywhere. We need scenes like that in games, no more of those "I am GOD! I can slay everyone without my hair even falling out of place!" action scenes.

completey forgot about that good choice! all the metal gear solids had good cut scenes. wasn't there one when the ninja takes out a whole pile of soldiers and theres blood all other the walls. rember my thumbs being eroded after the torture bit in that.
the start to quake 3 was preety good when you think a blokes looking out the window of a spaceship but he turns around and its turns out to be a corpse flying in space. i think i'm going to have to go with the start of battlefeild vietnam when its blarring out paint it black by the rolling stones or one of the orignal command and conquers becuase you look forward to them so much.
One that comes to mind is in MGS 4 where Raiden and Vamp are fighting each other, I think that is one of the best fighting cutscenes in a videogame.
Another one would be the blitzball cutscene from Final Fantasy X.
Also the opening cutscene from Final Fantasy 8 was pretty spectacular, it's a shame I didn't enjoy the game much though.Â

Oh yeah that's my favorite to. That was so awesome first time I saw it. I also really liked almost all cut scenes from MGS4, best animations I've ever seen.
The scene where they are dancing in final fantasy viii and also the ending not the ending the bit in the credits.Poshkidney
I love that scene.Â
For me, it would have to be a coin toss between FFX's Suteki Da Ne and Parasite Eve's intro. Love the mood those scenes convey.
Wow guys thanks for not posting a spoiler warning for some of the newer games.

Alright now I know what my favorite cutscene is. The opening to Mass Effect. After playing with a fantastic character creation tool you get this dramatic scene of "That's the only type of person who can protect the galaxy" Then the dramatic tune that was building up reaches it's climax and then Mass Effect! fills the screen. You know you're in for a treat.
