I just purchased Kane & Lynch: Dead Men and Kane & Lynch 2 for sale on GoG, I never played these games before till now. I really have never seen anyone talk about the games, so I wanted to know/hear the opinions of those who have. Also, I am aware this franchise had a bad controversy here on Gamespot regarding its review, leading to the firing of the editors a decade ago, but I wasn't there. So I don't know what went wrong, but that's another conversation for another time.

So what's the verdict, my fellow gamers?

Never played, however aware they are games designed to be enjoyed coop and I appreciate any game that entices people to play with each other.

A game can be mid, yet with a friend it's all the better

First one is OK but I loved the second one. What a great game! I replayed it a few times too. Still fun. It's a shame nothing else looks like that game. Unrecord kinda gives me the same vibe though but this is TPS so it's better because you see your character reacting. Really feels like you're in a B movie.

I don't care for them much at all... look, I'm a retired Marine and there isn't much that can make me feel uncomfortable, but whichever of the games I was playing was ridiculous. It felt like that movie Super Troopers where the cop kept saying meow.. Only you need to subtract the word meow, insert the word f**k and say it 12 times as often. There was legitimately a section of the game I was playing where they said the word at least 2 or 3 times a sentence for like 15 minutes straight.. it wasn't even funny in a parody type of way and made me wonder who the games target audience was. Either way I turned it off and never played it again, it was that bad, funny thing is that I don't even remember the gameplay since I couldnt get over the completely ridiculous narrative.

Good games if you're going for the SP part, brilliant games if you're playing competitive MP, being able to kill your team-mates and take all the money, sooooooooo much fun.

I'm playing the first game, the controls aren't friendly for a star, but I'm digging the dynamic duo, however. Despite for a 2007 game, it's decent enough to keep me going till I get to the second game.

@davillain: Yeah SP is OK, are you going to try the MP, oh man the fun I had back in the day on the 360, the amount of rage, swearing and the like was hilarious. You gotta try it once.

Let me break it down, so you and a team of 6 I think do a heist and you start to steal the money, and the AI police show up. Once you beat the police you make it to the chopper and thats when you can shoot your team mate as he's climbing the rope to get in the chopper, steal his money, but after 30secs he comes back as a cop to try and kill you to get revenge. It's brilliant and the one with the most money wins.

I wanted to like the first game, but if I remember correctly the controls were horseshit on the PC and I don't think you could rebind the keys so I gave up on it. It looked interesting, but not enough to where I wanted to fight with the controls more than I was fighting with the bad guys in game.

I think I still have my physical copy of the game....maybe. I'd have to dig through my collection to find out.

Never played them. I did buy the PS3 version of Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days many years ago but just haven’t got around to playing it yet.

@neatfeatguy: I'm using my Xbox Series controller playing the first game and I find it be suited better for that and I barely use KB/M on 3rd-person games. But even so, the game's mechanics is lousy but not dogshit to say the least.

I played Kane and Lynch 2 with a friend, I remember it being fun but forgettable, as in, I barely remember anything about it.

There are better co-op games, no doubt.

I heard good things but sadly there was that whole scandal surrounding the sequel and it's marketing campaign and Gamespot.

If you want a good crime game, Payday is pretty fun.

Crime Scene Cleaner is also good, but from a different sort of angle (you clean up crime scenes lol. It's kind of dark)

I also heard that "Rokay City" or whatever it's called was all right.

I hear purple is the best flavor of crayon. Is that true? 😁😉👍
