amazon/ebay is good for better games... like mario allstar for snes on amazon/ebay would be like 20$

and if i whent to the swap meet/flee market(watever you call it) they charge 40-60$:o

so if its a lesser known game i just go to the swap meet...

Locally, in Redding, CA, there are two places to get retro games: -BogBean Books & Music -& Video Exchange (I hope someone gives me props for that if they read this at all, I could always use a signature or two on my buy 9 get 1 free card BogBean) They both have their plusses and minuses. BogBean has the best prices, but their selection is sometimes good, sometimes bad. Video Exchange usually has a good selection of games and other retro-gaming stuff, but they're also more pricey and the customer service stinks. BogBean has great customer service, most of the time, I have had a couple bad experiences there though, but it always seems to be just one employee who has a chip on her shoulder. When I can't find what I want at those two places, I then turn to Amazon.com and EBay as many other retro-gamers do. I wish, I SOOOO WISH, that Gamestop would go back to selling retro-stuff. It used to be when they were still FuncoLand and shortly afterwards, they sold anything all the way back to NES and Sega Master System.

I get mine online 99% of the time. Sporadically I'll go to the local games shop though, for the feel of it. Or I'll pick up something if I accidently find myself in a retail shop.

I got most of mine when they were current. I guess online stores like ebay or whatever would be good if you want them these days for pretty decent prices (if you shop around).

eBay most of the time. I found several great NES games at a local store that sold everything from atari to PS3, but they recently went out of business.

I did find 2 N64 systems in great condition at the local goodwill store. One was bare, the other had 2 controllers, all wires, and the ram expansion.

Pawn shops, yard sales, a local store, and Ebay if I really want something. Never from Gamestop. They charge like a 500% mark up on those used PS2 games.

You should really check them out again, then. 80% of their used PS2 games are in the $9.99 and under bin. There's also a $2.99 bin for PS2 games, as well. I just picked up Twisted Metal Black, GTA Vice City, and Timesplitters for $2.99 a piece. You can't beat that.

Maybe I'll stop up. The one I live near sells garbage. Most of their PS2 games were in the generic cases with no manual. I had a list of games I was looking for like FFX-2, Sly Cooper, and Jak games. They were wanting like $15 a piece for those at that time. I laughed it off and went to a store called Cash-In-Culture and got most of what I was looking for. I will try to get there this week though and see if I can get some deals for $2.99.

Since one of my friends gave me his spare SNES as a Christmas gift and there's no other place that I can find old games, I usually check out the electronics aisle of Half-Price Books, which is a gold mine of retro games that people have traded in.

For SNES/NES/Gameboy/Sega Genesis I get them at a place on my university campus that sells old games.
For PS1games I go to this store downtown not far from my house.

I dont believe in online shopping so I go to swap meets, pawn shops, Goodwill/Salvation Army stores, garage/yard sales, flea markets, little stores where they sell anything. I like to run around trying to find hidden gems here and there. I have found a some pretty amazing stuff for cheap.

I buy most of mine on Ebay, try to get them in lots mainly cause the shipping adds up, then just hoard/sell the duplicates. Also I sometimes make deals online over at AtariAge.com it's a pretty good community so no one really rips eachother off.

I usually go to independent stores. They have a huge selection of retro games and they are priced dirt cheap. I never buy retro games from gamestop, seeing that they often have no retro games at all.

Flea markets or on Goozex, which is an online trading community. I also buy on eBay a lot. I just got The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, one of the top five rarest Sony Playstation games, for fifty dollars in the original case with the manual on eBay.

I get nearly everything from a shop called Virtual Games. I mainly get Game Boy games there, although they do have a good range of Mega Drive titles(sometimes).

I D/L them from the current consoles' stores. Never owned a PS1 (but had a few PS1 games that I got with my PS2 back who-knows-when), so that's really my only way of playing those games.

I used to get the majority of my old games from EB Games but lately, at least where I live, the stores seem to have zero standards in terms of what old games they'll take in from people and most of the discs are scratched or worse, have parts of the label missing. Pawn shops have better quality games now and if I don't find something there, it's ebay.

If you ever buy a game from EB Games, make sure you see the disc before they quickly put in the case and don't hesitate to hold it up to the light to see if you can see through a hole or holes in the label.

There's a local store near me called Game Force that has a lot of old SNES, Genesis, N64, and PS1 games at decent prices. Other than that, flea markets. I have yet to buy a retro game online yet...
