I just moved into Southern California and was wondering where people are shopping for their games? I used to go to a mom and pop but around here all I have around is a Best Buy, Target, Game Stop and a Walmart. Any tips on where I should go?

I buy my games from Gamestop cause there cheap you have a 7 day trial and most of the time there games are in good shape
Best Buy - That way I know it's new
But usually I go to either this place called The Video Game Pawn Shop, and ABU Games. Just locally owned retailers that sell old games. Got some nice finds recently from both places :D
A mix of places and I'll give you the reason.
New Games
Best Buy - I like the spend 250$ get 5$ back, that's better than Gamestop on new games.
Gamestop - They used to be my go to guys, but their policies are gimp and I had a falling out with an employee that tried to sell me an opened "display" game at full price. If I peel off my outer wrapping, it's unreturnable. What gives? Anyways, sometimes preorders pay off so.
New Games but have been out a while
Amazon - Usually has good deals. I picked up a second copy of Saints Row 2 in December for 39.99$ pretty easily. You can also get other older games factory sealed for dirt cheap through them or their other online vendors. Less of a hassle than a lot of the eBay places I think..
Used Games
Gamestop - Strangely they have the best used game policy...
Used - Gamestop (10% off with Edge Card, but 2 get 1 deals, other deals), also visit a couple local shops
New - Toys R Us (usually the best sales/deals), Best Buy (with my reward zone certificates)
I purchase the majority of my titles off of ebay. If you're willing to wait and put the effort in bidding, you can buy games dirt cheap. It's definitely better than amazon.
Oh! And I check out Blockbuster too. Sometimes you can get some great games for super duper cheap. And they run sales sometimes for buy one get one free, etc. Can be pretty awesome. Works out for me when they don't know what they're doing.Used - Gamestop (10% off with Edge Card, but 2 get 1 deals, other deals), also visit a couple local shops

I buy them from that creepy looking merchant who wears a mask and a dark coat with a hoodie.

"I got somethin' that might interest ya." *opens coat*
Anyway as for where I buy my games it's usually Wal-mart first, Future Shop second, Blockbuster third, and if I'm really desperate I'll sometimes go to EB/Gamestop.

:P
Wal-Mart is one of my favorite places to shop. Sometimes I try to look for games that have been marked down. Once, I found a copy of Lumines 2 for only $5 brand new.

Ouch! It was worth it though. That line was too irresitable to pass up. :P
Yeah you can find some great deals there. I really like it because sometimes they mess up on the pricing. I live in Canada and sometimes they'll price a game with the US price which is generally $10 cheaper.
I get mine from eBay simply because I can usually get them cheaper there. Other times I try to get them on Amazon.

Hehe, I guess that explains why Wal-Mart's profits are slipping. :P
I live in the US and while some of the deals here are great, there are certain games that never seem to go down in price. I mean, there's a copy of KOF: Maximum Impact that's been sitting behind the glass for almost 3 years and even today, its still priced at $30. I've seen stores that sell it for $20 or less. That's just crazy.
I just order them. I'm in no hurry, I can wait a day or two. UPS as well as USPSground always takes two days. Sometimes it's here twelve hours after I order it. Either someone within my area likes meor the volume in their area is way down.
I normally orderfrom newegg or EBgames. Maybe best buy, sears, B.J's orwherever I may be. Sometimes something catches my eye and I like the price so Igrab it. I'm not the type to run out and buy something the day it was released. Probably because I now play games, watch TV & movies justlike I walk into walls. Which isVery rarely. I have dozenS of games that I've never played. Well.. I installed them configured them tried them and soon became bored.
I'm at a point in my life in which the lack oforiginal medialeaves mewith a sense of wasted life. It's one thing when old games make you feel like you're living in the past but when the new games do... it's a sad time for me. I'm getting to old for this ****

I usually go with Best Buy or Futureshop (Canadian version of Best Buy). I try to stay away from EB/Gamestop because they gut their PC games which is an awful practice.
If I want a new game that recently came out I go to Best Buy/Target.
For used/older games I go to GameStop.
TC you should check out Fry's Electronic since you live in southern part of Cali. I would go to Fry's, but I live in central Cali so it's 3 hour drive for me up north and 4 hour drive down south.
I use to buy most of my games at Circuit City before they went out of business since they had good deals. I tend to check around prices store to store to see if there are any good deals going on, but lately I been buying at Best Buy. I miss Circuit City .
Toys r Us tends to have buy 2 get 1 free or buy 1 get 2nd 50% of the same or lesser value usually during October.
