ok i have played through all the metroid games and i have to say that they are one of my favorite video game series, this being said in 2001 when i played metroid prime i was inthused about how the serise took such a dramatic and exciting turn to a first person but by the end of the expierience i just wanted a 2d innovative metroid game, not to leave out corruption i think that they did that pretty interesting with the wii mote and the controls were tight, but still i craved the classicness of the old games.

i think where im getting at is that i just want my good old metroid back

Aside from Hunters, Metroid has always been fantastic. I am still frustrated that Nintendo still hasn't said anything about a 2D DS Metroid at all. The last one was Zero Mission in 2004... its almost 2009.

honestly I wish they would make another classic Metriod for DS. But the only problem with that is Nintendo seems to think they have to use every feature possible thinking it was "cool". example of the touch screen. The idea is great to navigate menus with the stylus quicker than the control pad but they would manage to screw it up. For example they might make the only way to change beams or maybe to go into ball mode you would have to use the touch screen. Good concept but the touch screen would make it hard for the stressful situations in fast paced action.

Note to Nintendo: You don't have to use every single feature on your system. Sometimes they screw things up more than innovate

I think we can stop holding our breath on this one. It's gone. Nintendo will never do it. Which sucks.

Yes it was. Easily the best Metroid since Super Metroid. [QUOTE="Iceman8012"]

I will hold out until they deny rumours of it being in production. Unfortunately, given Hunters, I am not too keen on what they are going to offer on the DS.

Believe me, I love the Metroid series (except for MPH), so I want one too, a 2D one. A 2.5D Metroid like New Super Mario Bros., would be awesome! If only...*sniff*sniff*whimper*

The message in MP3 was pretty conclusive in my opinion. No way that wasn't a hint.

I wouldn't assume Nintendo isn't making another Metroid because they want to use stylus controls. I don't recall having to use a stylus in New Super Mario Bros.
