Specifically which is better between Burnout 3 and Burnout revenge. I often hear praise for 3, but not so much with Revenge. I would include the PSP Burnout games as well, but the poll only allows for 5 slots. Please post below WHY you chose a certain Burnout game over the others.

It's a total toss up between Takedown and Revenge.

I'm not a big fan of burnout3. I like Burnout 1 and 2 better. then burnout legends on psp. Burnout Paradise is the best on xbox360, but it's not a legacy game.

Burnout Paradise was the worst. I voted for 3.

Burnout 3 by far. It's more challenging and engaging than Revenge, I thought the Traffic Checking was kinda ridiculous at times. Paradise was OK, but really nothing like Burnout 3.

I've already finished Burnout Legends on the PSP, is it worth playing Burnout 3 after this? I wasn't too keen on Legends, and I gather it's an amalgamation of content from the first 3 Burnout console games.

Well, I haven't played Legends, but it's hard to go wrong with Burnout 3. Give it a shot, you'll probably enjoy it.

I love the second one the most :) lots of cars and good selection of tracks. The first Burnout felt more like a racing game and that's it even though it showed scenes damage of cars but it lacked in car selection and locations to race, still fun though.

I vote "Burnout 3: Takedown" for the PS2. It's my first experience with the series and it's a really solid racing game + it's a lot of fun which is also important.

Burnout 3: Takedown for the PS2 for me. But bear in mind that I actually haven't played every Burnout game (that will change in the future... very close future) I think it started when my brother got Burnout 2: Point of Impact for the PS2 pre-owned for a few pounds, but it crashed every 5 minutes, and I never got around to trying it at the time. Then we kinda just got Takedown at some point (can't remember when, but this would have been in the first year/months it was released). I absolutely LOVED this game and this game made me love arcade racers. If it wasn't for Burnout, I probably wouldn't have pre-ordered Split/Second: Velocity on the Xbox 360, as I wouldn't have knew about those sort of games. Paradise is a good game, but there are some things about it which let it down in my opinion, such as a lack of a "retry" option, meaning you could end up MILES away from anywhere. I also quite liked the open city and free roam online, but I think I prefer the menu ways of Burnout past. As for Burnout Legends, I absolutely loved it. It was just another Burnout game that was great fun!! On the topic of Revenge, it's an odd one. At first there was one thing that disappointed me a lot, and that was the lack of a single player/exhibition/free play mode as it was only Career and Online. But after spending MANY hours on the game (like Burnout 3), I grew to really love it and the lack of that mode doesn't bother me anymore, as I always find myself playing either the Career stuff or online anyway. I also actually found traffic checking to be fun, so that didn't bother me. But when it all comes down to it, I prefer Burnout 3: Takedown. It is because the game seems like the perfect arcade racer. Awesome cars, fantastic tracks and locations, great music, pretty much instant nostalgia feeling, fun, fast, and just generally entertaining! I would say Revenge is my second favourite game :) I also need to play Dominator. It seems to be VERY similar to Burnout 3 etc. so I really want to play it, just never got around to it with so many games and whatnot. I will then go back and buy the original Burnout and play that for the first time, and then try Point of Impact again, and if it crashes all the time still, I will have to get another.

I haven't played part 3 enough to say if it was really good or not. But I've played 1 and 2 enough. Part 2 for me was the pinnacle of the series and is nearly perfect. I'd give it a 9.5/10. The graphics are pleasant, the controls are good but the sense of speed is freakin amazing! I mean you literally get sucked into the game while playing. 2 player mode was nothing short of brilliance either. I just wish that you could play with more than 2 players. Crash Mode was great though. Speeding to the center of a bunch of moving cars in traffic has never been so freeing. I haven't played the game in a couple of years but it is amazing. Trust me. I have heard good things about 3 too though.

EDIT: Oh and 1 was alright. Nothing really stood out about it to me and it seems as though it was just a platform for part 2 to be created. It didn't leave much of an impression on me and I wouldn't even bother with it truthfully. Part 2 on the other hand, you have to play. Hopefully, you have friends to play and take turns with but one player mode is also fun.

Burnout 3 by far. Many great memories playing that game. Just recently played and completed Burnout Paradise, however it didn't capture my attention like Burnout 3 did. Maybe it's because I'm not a big fan of having to find and drive over to every single event on the map (unless there is a quciker way that I don't know about). Free-roam to me just doesn't work in a game like Burnout. Just give me my options for races and just let me complete the events. No need to complicate things by making something as trivial as a event select an easter egg hunt.

Also, it felt like Paradise was more constricted area wise. In Burnout 3, you travel all around the globe participating in every type of event available whereas Paradise just exists in one big location. This location however, became "smaller" and more "familiar" after you've driven around the blocks over and over again. Objectively, if we were to actually compare the scale of the two games Paradise overall is bigger than all of 3's events, but I still like the feeling that 3 gave you of traveling in more than one location on the map.

Another thing I liked about Burnout 3 was that afterburner takedown (or it might have been called something else, I'm not sure). I liked the ability to slow down time after my crash so that I could take down even more vehicles and still be in the game. Felt it was kind of lame that they took that out of Burnout Paradise. It was definitely a step back.

I plan on buying the next Burnout that comes out, however, I hope that they go back to their roots a bit with this one and bring back the things that made 3 an enjoyable experience instead of continuing in the vein of Paradise.

Actually, a Retry option was added in a patch later, but it's still annoying that it wasn't there in the first place.

My favorite Burnout game is Burnout Revenge for the 360. I logged countless hours into the game trying to unlock and achieve everything and it just never got old to me. It was extremely fun, solid action, and still had the great arcade feel that has made the burnout series great.

I agree with alot of the people who were not a fan of Paradise. By no means is it a bad game, but the open world thing just turned me off. I really hated when I would lose a race and then would have to drive all the way to the starting point to retry it.

Yes, I realize that it isn't part of the Burnout series that this topic is about. And no, I don't care.
