for the 360 to play HD dvds in needs a seperate thingy added on to it which costs around $150. BUT why would u bother because blu ray kicked the cr@p outta HD DVD so they dnt make them anymore. So PS3 wins agn :)

Did you mean to say PS2 or PS3? I use my PS3 for watching films, both DVD and bluray, I'm not sure there's any difference in the visual appearance of the DVDs but the lessoned noise from the PS3 makes for a better experience for obvious reasons. If you meant PS2 then I've no idea, I never got around to buying one

the ps3s actually upscale regular DVDs into higher quality. Was actually just watching enemy at the gates last night with a bunch of friends on my ps3 and they asked, "is this a regular dvd!?!? it looks amazing!"

Ahh well there you go then, I hadnt really paid much attention because once I bought it I moved to watching everything via PS3 with no real comparison aside from that already mentioned :)
