Canada, home of Bioware, Digital Extremes, Digital Illusions, Dreamcatcher, EA Canada, Radical, Rockstar Vancouver, Silicon Knights and the venerable Ubisoft Montreal Studio just to name a few...67gt500I thought Digital Illusions was swedish?
USA: Blizzard and Valve.thusahaI used to like Blizzard but in the recent years (since the start of WOW) they started to be so cocky and thinks that they are the best.
Iran makes the best games ever. I just love that PC game where you run around as an Iranian special agent saving kidnapped nuclear scientists from the evil clutches of the Zionist and Great Satan regimes that unjustly invaded and continue to occupy Iraq.
No this isn't a joke. Iranian developers actually made this game.
But they suck at making RPGs. D:[QUOTE="BladesOfAthena"]Japan is the one and only correct answer. Zweihand
Unless we're talking pre-1997 RPGs. Those were god-tier.
I'd take Persona 4 or Tales of Vesperia over Fable 2 and Oblivion any day man. It's all taste.Japan make the best RPGs, think about the final fantasy series(FFVII,FFVIII,FFIX,FFX,FFXI,FFXII,FFXIII) unless you never played them before.SeraphEnforcerI've played FF4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Tactics, 10, X-2, and 12... and the only ones I enjoyed were 4, 5, 6, and Tactics. The Fallout series and Elder Scrolls series EASILY have a better track record than Final Fantasy's many stumbles.
Btw, if you're going to mention Japanese RPGs, at least mention some good ones... Valkyrie Profile, Secret of Mana, Xenogears, MegaTen, Shadow Hearts, Suikoden, Tales, etc... Final Fantasy's become little more than a parody of JRPGs' former glory.
Though, I will say-- again-- that Japan makes the best arcade games ever. Arcade-type games are my genre of choice. I just wish they could make good RPGs again.

Maybe that's because you suck at them. :pAnd that's just a broad generalization. There are just as many good RPGs that exist today just as there were back then.

don't forget vagrant story, my favourite console RPG. it actually mixes elements of western and eastern RPG design. it's one of the best RPGs.
