Hey,
I currently own FFX for PS2, FFIV (originally II) for GBA and FF Tactics for PSP.
Which one should I begin with and why?
Thank you.

Final Fantasy X because that is the one that got me hooked (actually I played X-2 as my first Final Fantasy game, and shortly after enjoyed X).
It has most of the aspects of the other games, and it's a great introduction into Final Fantasy gameplay, so that you can go into the other games with the preparedness you need. It's great at teaching you to play, and introducing you into basic strategy, and as you advance you'll naturally fall into the more advanced strategies needed.
It also has a great story, and an incredible world that will keep you entertained.
After X, I recommend VII, then VI (3), and lastly XII... I'm pecking my way through XII, and though it's enjoyable, I prefer the older style of gameplay.
It would make more sense to buy FF I and play that first. But VIII is the best!nVidiaGaMerI don't thikn that makes any sense.... That game is really far from what Final Fantasy has become...I've never been able to enjoy I or II. VI is the first one with an 'epic' Final Fantasy story line, and is most like the more modern games that make Final Fantasy what it is.

yeah ... yeah ... it would still be nice to play FF I and II.
Final Fantasy Tactics or FFX
I think FF Tactics is better but most people especially new comers to FF enjoy FFX the most. It seems to be only a few of us that like the old FFVII and tactical FFT battle system over that of FFX and FFXII
It really doesn't matter all three of those games are great. Starting with X might not be a bad idea if you're new to the series but whichever looks the most appealing to you is the one you should start with.
But, out of all of those, Tactics is the most far off from the series, so if you play that first, you'll be in somewhat of a suprise when playing the others.
Have fun man!
That's a tough call. I would say IV, because then you can go to tactics and X and they will just get better and better. However, it seems like peoples first FF games tend to become their favourites, so you might want to chose one that's still blow away like X.

I think the epic storyline started with IV.
And if you start with IV, won't take you that long to complete.
If you go with X, might take a bit. One time I played it, I had nearly 90 hours into the game. I'm a sucker for Blitz Ball. :)
Omfg Blitzball was great, spend so many hours on that too. To answer the topic, FFX is what most people who are introduced to the series start with including me.If you go with X, might take a bit. One time I played it, I had nearly 90 hours into the game. I'm a sucker for Blitz Ball. :)

Even when I reached a certain point in the game, where you didn't have to play it anymore, I stilled played it. :)
Start with FFX.
It's an awesome game and you will easily get hooked.
I haven't played it in like a week or two. Still working on beating it so I can start X-2.
:)

Whew, that's really matter of taste! But here's my opinion:
I would leave Tactics until last. Tactics is a great game, but it is completely different gameplay from the "numbered" series entries, so it wouldn't be giving a newcomer a true feel for the Final Fantasy "universe".
As for IV vs X, I am admittedly biased because I've been gaming since before ANY FF's came out, so the early games hold a lot of nostalgia for me. I'm playing the "re-release" of III on my DS right now. That said, here's my take...
IV has a more "classic" feel to it, while X has more depth and is much closer to what you'll find in the more recent entries. So, assuming you only want to stick to the games you mentioned above, then IV is the better bet if you're looking to "start from the beginning". On the other hand, if your less interested in "old fashioned" then I'd go with X.
Either way make sure you get VII because it is largely regarded as the best FF there is. If I had a dollar for every hour I spent playing VII, I'd be... well, I wouldn't be rich but I'd have at least a couple hundred bucks.
Thank you for your valuable comments. By the way, which one of those games did you find the most addictive?
Does FFX contain any mini card games?
Thank you.

More addictive? FFX held my concentration for the longest time.
No card game in FFX. Only VII and VIII and IX and X-2

That's actually kind of a tough question. I would recommend starting with IV. However, it may not hold your interst like X can. It depends really. I think IV is the best game on your list, because I'm a 16-bit nut, and IV really is a great game.
Basically: I would go IV, Tactics, then X.
IV for the greatness that it is. Then tactics for a break from the formula. Then X to cap it off.
FFX it is a great game and made me a big fan of the series.
Many people say FFVII is the best I can't really say that because I haven't played it.

I have to agree with you that it is a hard question to answer because it all depends on your taste. I would start with 4 and then play 6, Then I would play 7, 8, 9, and then 10. Of course you could just jump right to ten and play that one. Six is a definite pick up considering the game is so long. I played that game until I had just about every spell or skill you could think of. It is all about what your taste is. Do you like the old school type games then you would go with 4 and 6. If you like the cgi type games then go with 7, 8, and 10.
I would just go in order starting with FFIV. Try FF Tactics after FFVI and before FFVII. Overall, FFVI is still my all time favorite. Bought that game so many different ways that I've lost count.jmartinez1983
Same here I have bought final fantasy six and four so many times I have lost count. Can't beat the classics man.

All Final Fantasy's are epic, that's why everyone loves them. Before Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest almost every RPG was a Dungeon Crawler (Except Ultima IV on the PC).
