Hey everyone, Ok so I really havent gotten a game for like over a year and a half so I want to get somthing now for the xbox 360. I wanted to get one rts (maybe) and one action game. For the RTS I was thinking about either HALO WARS or COMMAND & CONQUER RED ALERT 3. I dont kow which one to get though. What do you guys reccomend? I want good campaign and solid online if I ever decide to get it. Dont just be like "HALO WARS ROCKS!!" or somthing like that. Also for an action game I was thinking either FAR CRY 2 or STREET FIGHTER 4. I think that both will get boring though because FAR CRY probably sucks online (if i ever decide to get online) and STREET FIGHTER is just fighitng and he same gameplay over and over. I am open to any other suggestions for games, just no HALO 3 or GEARS OF WAR or GTA because those games are annoying. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!
For the RTS buy COMMAND & CONQUER RED ALERT 3 I have beaten it two times and I think it is the best in series for the Action game buy Far Cry 2 although it gets boring after a while but still better than Street Fighter 4
I like C&C games but they have piss poor balance. They design the maps and the challenges you have to overcome so it all comes down to doing specific things in battle while fending off random attacks. Then once you achieve your goal the tide of battle usually flips and you instantly sweep over the enemy and crush them. It gets old and isnt very fun. I havent played Halo Wars so i cant talk about that. I would NOT get Far Cry 2 or SF4 they both suck. In Far Cry 2 you have no idea where bad guys are and as you blunder your way around the countryside you get attacked from all angles and stuff and it just sucks. They also made it so your equipement degrades with use... yay!! what fun. SF4 is beyond lame. If you are a hardcore SF4 fan go for it but otherwise pass. Saint's Row 2 is 10x better that GTA4 in every way but it is also glitchy and frequently locks up(although they say putting it on your HD will help lots but i dont have one). I dont know why you think GTA is annoying so you might not like SR2 either Far Cry 2 is also just like a GTA game though . Custom Character, Custom Rides, Custom cribs, Custom gang, awesome side missions, the ability to replay story missions and enemy gang base assaults make the occasional freeze all worth it and you can save at anytime so freezes shouldnt even affect you.. For action I would suggest Spiderman WoS, Mass Effect, or Earth Defense Force 2017. Mass Effect is an rpg/fps and EDF2017 is purely an FPS with split-screen co-op. Whatever though, Hope whatever you pick makes you happy. If i were recommending games to buy it would hands down be SR2, EDF, The Last Remnant, Mass Effect
I would certainly say C&C over Halo Wars, and Far Cry 2 over SF4. Halo is going to need some time to truely figure out the RTS, and I don't think I have ever played a Fighter that was more action based than an FPS.
ok thanks for the help. I just wanted to add that (though it may sound stupid) HALO WARS got much better reviews and I feel that there would be more people online for that, but what are your thoughts?? Also , besides saints row, what is a good action game? please go all out and tell me what you like. I really want a games that I can play for a while, and with good online. THANKS
C&C red alert is the same thing as the last 2 they have released. The whole series has been downhill and generic ever since red alert 2. I would go for halo wars IMHO
I have to say that I think Halo wars's multiplayer is very enjoyable and wins hands down compared to C&C but I think that command and conquer's campaign is much more diverse and durable.
For a choice of action games how about fallout 3? I don't really know if that is going to fit your definition of "action game" but it's quiet a good game give it a try ^^.
