I will like to see the first Metal Gear that was realese for MSX like the remake of MGS that came out for NGC from the PS version. Also will like to see a Golden Axe remake. It will be great, I know that I asking too much because of the games but that is what I want. Sure there are toons of new games that look like these in a modern form but that is what I wish. Come on and give your opinion!!
It'd be pretty spectacular if they could remake, "The Legend of Dragoon" for the PS2, or even the PS3, doesn't matter. I don't think many people had the chance to play such a spectacular game for the PSX,and I doubt you could find it anywere nowadays except online. If you havn't played it you should really look into it, it won't dissapoint.
I would like to see a remake of Dino Crisis 3, this time without the crappiness, and with a storyline which finally addresses the cliffhanger ending of Dino Crisis 2. Capcom need to get off their asses.
I would love to see a Street of Rage remake for any console. This was one of the best game I played back on my Sega Genesis. It had great gameplay and music that makes it very compelling.
Either Battletoads, or Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven stars. The first one just for laughs, and the second one becaus eit is prolly the greatest RPG Nintendo has ever produced.
Heh, I have to admit I haven't heard from half the games you guys posted in here...
My vote would go to:
- Syndicate
- Master of Magic (plenty of TBS around but none come close to this one; in fact many more recent games are much simplified versions of MoM)
- UFO: enemy unknown (even more imitated, but none of the modern games can even compete with the original in terms of gameplay... unfortunately many of them are plagued by countless bugs)
I think that games companies see them as a way of making a quick buck off a franchise, and gamers seem to like them because "ZOMG RETRO GAME WITH NICE GRAPHIX" but I think they ruin the essence of what made those games good in the first place. Games developers should be concentrating more on future games, rather than being stuck in the past, maybe then the new games that come out would actually have some substance.
Very valid point Southy787, thoughI guess there's an essential difference between sequels milking out a formula, and gems that never got any good successor ;)
I wouldn't care too much about better graphics, but more for a further developed or more stable offspring of the original.
I want that tech demo of FFVII re-made for the PS3 or X360 simply because it's my all time favourite game and it deserves a second breath of life IMO ;)
I do know what you mean southy787. I think there is a problem in that the only way to play those old games is to get an old console which is not practical for someone who wants a quick go on Battletoads or something. Alternatively re-releasing old games on new systems is a bit of a cheeky way for companies to make a quick buck. At least with a good remake the excellent ideas of an older game can be given a modern day spit-and-polish like Prince of Persia.
For what it's worth I wouldn't mind seeing Battletoads or Syndicate wars given a new edge.

They're already remaking Golden Axe for the PS3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it says so on this website.
Ditto to what southy's said, but I wouldn't mind seeing an updated 'VAGRANT STORY.' I don't think you can muck up a game like that if you just gave it a face-lit...but then again, I've seen it done before.
I sure would love to see the remake of that great game called "Residen Evil 2" and, why not, the "Resident Evil 3"! Just by thinking about that, it gives me the creeps!
