Which is Best Game so Far in 2018?

I've been playing Farcry 5, God Of War, Dark Souls 3, Farpoint, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Final Finatasy XIV Stormblood, Dark Souls III.

What about you? Which is the best game for you comment please.

From what I have played I would say my fav game is FC5

Even though they weren't first released this year (they came to XB1 this year), my favs have been Hellblade and Owlboy.

Which is Best Game so Far in 2018?

For new games it has to be Monster Hunter: World and it's not even close. Brilliant level design, variety of options, great combat, continuously free added content, great to play alone and even better with three friends.

And while I enjoy God of War (IV), outside of narrative it doesn't compare to MH in the slightest.

*As for older games played in 2018 a lot of what's being mentioned is awesome, love seeing games like Owlboy, Dark Souls III get mentioned. Rebought Owlboy again just to play on console, I will support that gem of a game for as long as I can.

Right now I'm playing a lot of Dragon's Crown Pro (still one of my favorite games of all time). Which has a few QoL changes from its previous gen release; if anyone was aware of the late PS3/ Vita patch, you can set the screen to be less chaotic and overall the menus and new remixed music is a welcome edition to my Ultimate lvl 237.

Probably Monster Hunter: World for me. I haven't had the chance to play God of War or Detroit: Become Human yet, though

I haven't play God Of War yet. But, I've heard nothing but positive things about the game. I'll rent it later & try out Dragonball Fighterz.

Pretty hard to argue against God of War.

Alliance Alive. Super JRPG and much better than Ni No Kuni 2.

Definitely God of War.

I have been playing this game called Vedah and it truly is my time killer.

The game is interesting and we get that urge to collect the stars and beat the highest scores.

Its available for free on Android and IOS.

Hollow Knight and Monster Hunter World.

I know Hollow Knight was first released in 2017, but not the Switch version which is what I'm playing.

My favorite games of 2018 thus far are games that were originally released in previous years and had re-releases in 2018 such as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Sonic Mania, Shadow of the Colossus, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

2018 has been kind of underwhelming thus far in terms of brand new releases, but I am looking forward to Red Dead Redemption 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Super Mario Party later this year.

My favourite game of the year is Ni no Kuni 2. And I don't think it will change. I don't think that Shadow of Tomb Raider, Yakuza Kiwami 2 or RDR 2 could take its spot (conisidering I never finished RDR 1. Still going to buy RDR 2).

And while GOW 2018 is a better game objectivilty, Ni no Kuni 2 is still my favourite game of the year.

@yammireckorrdsan: I really liked Ni No Kuni 2 but have you played Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch? I played it right after The Revenant Kingdom and man is it a great game. It took me 2-3 months to beat it and I loved every minute of it. Probably the best JRPG of last gen imo

For me I would say Monster Hunter World with Octopath Traveler a close second.

@valgaav_219: I played NNK 1 on release. I loved that game as well. But I prefer NNK2. NNK2 while great game, has some big problems. For a game that based on taming monsters, on the first 5-6 hours you can't tame nothing. Only the three that the game chooses for you. It is not that problem on first playtrought, but it is a nightmare on second one, when you have no control for 6 boring hours. I like to replay games in the "Tamer" "genre" like in Pokemon, and every time to play with a new team, but NNK takes that pretty bad. Even worst is that the catching machenic is based on luck (so which monster you could get at the end of battle) , so you can't even properly choose your team. Unlike in games like Tales of Syhmponia 2, World of FF, Digimon Cyber Seluth and Pokemon of course.

NNK2 on the other hand is just a Tales' clone (with few new mechanics) , which is great, because Tales is my favourite game franchise of all time.

@yammireckorrdsan: I get what you're saying about the time it took to start catching and the luck mechanic but imo that's just a part of the grind. I spent hours up on that plateau trying to catch a Dinosceros and in my mind I thought I was gonna get 3 so everyone could have 1. Once I finally managed to catch one after a few hours I was like f**k this s**t and was happy with just having one. I didn't really mind and I didn't really catch a whole lot of familiars. I probably ended the game with about 40-50 but I pretty much just used the same ones since their levels were already high and I didn't feel like taking the time to grind with an underleveled monster

God of War

Monster Hunter World, mechanically the best Monster Hunter so far. It looks awesome, plays exactly as other MH games, so it feels comfortably familiar. Best one for me, as for now.

Haven't played many 2018 games (im mostly playing my backlog games) but the one im currently playing from this year is Facr cry 5 and im lovin' it, like with all FC games.
